Towards the 76th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2023), on the morning of July 21, the provincial delegation led by Comrade Luu Van Dung, Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, performed the incense offering ceremony and commemorated the heroic martyrs at the Vietnam - Laos International Martyrs Cemetery, in Anh Son district, Nghe An province.
The delegation respectfully offered flowers and incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs who heroically sacrificed for national independence, peace and friendship between Vietnam and Laos.
The Vietnam - Laos International Martyrs' Cemetery was built in 1976, covering an area of nearly 7 hectares, gathering nearly 11,000 graves of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military experts who fought and died in Laos, including 69 martyrs from Vinh Phuc. This is also the only cemetery in Vietnam named after two countries and two ethnic groups: Vietnam - Laos. The cemetery has 2 areas: area A includes 9 lots with 5,381 martyrs' graves; area B includes 13 lots with 5,219 graves.
At the end of the ceremony, the delegation members came to burn incense at the martyrs' graves, expressing their deep gratitude to the heroic martyrs. Before the souls of the heroic martyrs, the delegation members promised to always do well the assigned tasks, especially the work of repaying gratitude to be worthy of the sacrifices of previous generations.
