It turns out that my younger brother deserves to enjoy our land.
My family has two brothers. I study well so I have a good job in the city. My younger brother studies poorly, can't go anywhere, has to stay home and farm.
Over the years, my husband and I have saved all our salary to buy land and build a house. My father has a salary and does not need support from his children, so my husband and I do not have to worry about his old age.
After my father passed away, my mother became sick and had difficulty walking. She depended on my younger brother and his wife for all her activities. For 7 years, my younger brother quietly took care of my old mother without asking me to give him money or forcing my husband and I to take care of her.
At that time, I thought that she had a lot of savings, so my younger brother did not complain. Besides, it was my mother's house, my mother lived there, no one had the right to kick her out. My younger brother and his wife were living on my grandparents' land, so they had the responsibility to support them.
When my mother was alive, I used to remind her to divide the land between my brother and I so that there would be no disputes and family disunity in the future. But my mother said that I had a house in the city and would not return to the countryside. The land was only divided to sell. She did not want to lose her ancestral land, so she did not divide it at all.

After my mother passed away, I discussed with my younger brother about dividing the land in half, each of us getting half, but he did not agree and wanted to follow my mother's last wish, which was not to divide the land.
My brother and I did not share the same views, so we had a conflict. After a whole year of trying to convince my brother, I decided to file a petition to the court to resolve the matter.
Last Sunday, I was sitting at home when I heard the neighbors arguing loudly, so I ran over to see what was going on. Uncle Tuy’s family had three sons, but no one took care of their elderly mother, so they discussed hiring a maid. Having worked all his life to raise his children, at the end of his life, Uncle Tuy had no savings or money to pay a maid. His sons were upset when they had to pay out of their own pockets to support their mother.
Listening to the argument between Uncle Tuy's children, I felt that I was being selfish and petty. When my parents were alive, my younger brother worked hard to take care of them, but I never appreciated his kindness. If my younger brother hadn't taken good care of my parents, my family would probably have had conflicts like Uncle Tuy's.
When I had thought it through, I called my younger brother and told him that I would no longer fight over the land with him. He deserved to enjoy his parents' land. I did not forget to thank him for taking good care of my parents at the end of their lives so that my wife and I could work with peace of mind.
