( Bqp.vn ) – On July 19, in Hai Phong , the Navy Party Committee held a conference to review 5 years of the Sea and Island Propaganda Coordination Program for the period 2019-2024. Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Bong, Political Commissar of the Navy chaired the conference.

Attending the conference were Vice Admiral Tran Thanh Nghiem, member of the Party Central Committee, Commander of the Navy; Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee Le Tien Chau; representatives of central agencies; leaders of provinces, cities and units under the Navy.
At the conference, opinions and discussions clarified the results and pointed out shortcomings in the implementation of the Sea and Island Propaganda Coordination Program for the period 2019 - 2024; at the same time, proposed solutions to further improve the quality of coordination work in the coming time.

Speaking at the conference, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Bong said that, on the basis of the program of coordination of propaganda on seas and islands signed between the Party Committee, the Navy Command with the provincial Party Committees, city Party Committees, and Party Committees of 63 provinces and cities, 16 agencies and units nationwide, in the coming time, the parties will continue to focus on thoroughly implementing the leadership of the Party, the direction and guidance of the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Information and Communications , and the General Department of Politics. Promote the political responsibility of all levels, sectors, and localities, comprehensively, synchronously, and in-depthly deploy the program of coordination of propaganda on seas and islands in a broad, practical, and effective manner. Accordingly, focus on promoting the combined strength of all levels, sectors, organizations, and all forces; comprehensively and flexibly apply many forms and measures to conduct propaganda suitable to each unit, locality, area, time, target, characteristics, and specific conditions. Regularly pay attention to and take care of training and improving knowledge about the sea and islands for reporters and propagandists. Strengthen inspection, review and draw lessons at all levels and sectors. Improve the quality and effectiveness of coordination in propaganda to fight for the protection of the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland in conjunction with mobilizing resources to serve the goal of successfully implementing the political tasks of each agency, locality and unit. Continue to research, adjust, supplement and perfect the program of coordination in propaganda about the sea and islands between the Party Committee of the Navy and the provincial and municipal Party Committees directly under the Central Government, agencies and units nationwide, creating high unity in direction, operation, organization and implementation.
Also according to Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Bong, based on the results of the preliminary conference, the Party Committee and the Navy Command will closely coordinate, implement and exceed the set goals and tasks in a comprehensive, in-depth, effective, practical and safe manner. Coordinate with 28 coastal provinces and cities to promote the implementation of Directive No. 32-CT/TW dated April 10, 2024 of the Secretariat on "Strengthening the Party's leadership in combating illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing and sustainable development of the fisheries sector"; Directive No. 45/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister on a number of urgent tasks and solutions to overcome the European Commission's warning on combating illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing; Continue to effectively implement the program "Vietnam Navy as a fulcrum for fishermen to go offshore and stick to the sea", the activity "Navy sponsors fishermen's children". Strengthen the propaganda work of foreign defense on the sea; actively participate in conferences and seminars on territorial borders chaired by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , to propagate, provide information, and legal basis on the East Sea; fight and refute false arguments about Vietnam's sovereignty over seas and islands. Promote the role of mass organizations and the role of cultural institutions; proactively compile and distribute documents, leaflets, pictures, video tapes, stage and perform art programs. Strengthen the work of mass mobilization, gratitude, building new rural areas, civilized urban areas; cultural and artistic exchanges, visiting historical sites associated with propaganda about the history and typical feats of the heroic Vietnam People's Navy.
Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Bong requested units in the Navy to closely coordinate with agencies and localities to focus on successfully implementing the signed programs and plans. Continue to maintain the existing coordination mechanism, improve the quality of propaganda content, carry out effective and safe activities and create all favorable conditions for reporters of press agencies to work at the unit.

Implementing the direction of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, every year, the Navy has welcomed over 6,000 reporters from news agencies and newspapers inside and outside the Army to infiltrate the field, collect propaganda materials on the activities of the Navy, publish more than 60,000 news articles, reports... on newspapers, radio stations, electronic news sites of central agencies and localities about the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws related to the sea and islands; the results of the construction, development and implementation of the tasks of the Navy; reports reflecting the lives of soldiers and people of Truong Sa island district, DK-I platform; the results of training, combat readiness, competitions and sports events organized by the Navy; Special reports on the results of the implementation of the program "Vietnam Navy as a support for fishermen to go offshore and stick to the sea", the activity "Navy sponsors fishermen's children"... In particular, from 2019 to now, the Navy has organized to welcome domestic delegations and overseas Vietnamese to visit and encourage soldiers and people on Truong Sa archipelago, DK-I platform, ensuring absolute safety. Through the trips, the delegates witnessed the reality, deeply perceived and understood the sea and islands of the Fatherland. The dedication and sacrifice of the soldiers and people on Truong Sa archipelago, DK-I platform has deeply impacted the feelings of the delegates; aroused and promoted the strength of the entire political system; raised awareness and responsibility of all levels, sectors, people nationwide and overseas Vietnamese about the sea and islands of the Fatherland with practical and effective actions.
The Navy leaders awarded Certificates of Merit to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in sea and island propaganda work in the period 2019 - 2024.
On this occasion, the Navy awarded Certificates of Merit to 97 collectives and 95 individuals with outstanding achievements in sea and island propaganda work in the period of 2019 - 2024, contributing to the cause of socio-economic development, strengthening national defense and protecting the Fatherland.
