Marking a new development step of the Trade Union organization

With the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Innovation - Development", the Congress of Trade Unions at all levels in An Giang province has important political and social significance, marking a fundamental change in the model of organizing Trade Union activities in the new era. Mr. Do Tran Thinh - Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation (LDLĐ) informed about some contents surrounding this event.

- Reporter: Could you please tell us the significance of the Trade Union Congress at all levels for the 2025 - 2030 term?

- Mr. Do Tran Thinh: The Congress of Trade Unions of wards, special zones, grassroots trade unions, and trade unions in the province and the 1st Congress of Trade Union of An Giang province, term 2025 - 2030 are important political events, marking a new step of development of the provincial Trade Union organization after the merger and unification of the organizational model. Therefore, the requirement for this congress is to truly become a broad political activity, solidarity, democracy, discipline, innovation and development.

The Congress has the task of summarizing and evaluating the results of the implementation of the resolutions of the Trade Union Congress in the past term (2023 - 2025), setting out directions and tasks for the 2025 - 2030 term; giving opinions on the draft documents of the Congress of the Trade Union at higher levels; the draft amendments and supplements to the Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union; electing the new Executive Committee of the Trade Union and electing the delegation to attend the Congress of the Trade Union at higher levels. The Congress also promptly concretizes the Party's guidelines and resolutions, the State's policies and laws into the resolutions of the Trade Union Congress.

According to the plan, the Congress of Rach Gia Ward Trade Union and Phu Quoc Special Zone Trade Union will take place before October 31. Grassroots trade unions and trade unions will hold congresses and conferences before November 15. The first Provincial Trade Union Congress, term 2025 - 2030, will take place in December 2025.

- Reporter: What are the requirements for the Trade Union Congresses at all levels and the 1st Provincial Trade Union Congress, term 2025 - 2030, sir?

- Mr. Do Tran Thinh: Trade Union Congresses at all levels must continue to innovate their content and form in a practical and effective direction, focusing on quality, saving time and money, and following the prescribed schedule. Political reports must correctly, objectively, and comprehensively assess the results of implementing the resolutions of the Trade Union Congresses at their level in the past term, and at the same time determine the directions, goals, targets, tasks, and solutions for the new term that are close to the actual situation and feasible for effective implementation.

The preparation of personnel contents for the executive committee, standing committee and key positions must comply with regulations; participation and synthesis of opinions and recommendations on the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members, workers and union activities; participation in giving opinions on amendments to the Union Charter must ensure the leadership principles of the Party and the superior union, in accordance with the actual situation of the union in the new development stage.

- Reporter: Currently, how is the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor preparing to successfully organize the grassroots trade union congress and the Provincial Trade Union Congress?

- Mr. Do Tran Thinh: In order for the grassroots trade union congress and the Provincial Trade Union Congress for the 2025 - 2030 term to take place successfully, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor reports to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to establish 3 congress subcommittees including the document subcommittee, the personnel subcommittee and the propaganda, organization and service subcommittee of the congress. At the same time, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor directs departments to develop plans and implement work contents according to their functions and tasks to ensure thorough preparation for the congress.

The Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor develops a plan and provides detailed instructions on the time, content, and form of organizing congresses and conferences for grassroots trade unions and trade unions that do not reorganize, merge, or consolidate (remain the same); trade unions of wards, special zones, grassroots trade unions, and trade unions that reorganize, merge, or consolidate (newly established).

After issuing the plan, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor organized a conference to deploy the work of organizing grassroots trade union congresses for the 2025-2030 term in 3 regions. At the conference, the Provincial Federation of Labor deployed directive documents; supported and guided grassroots trade unions on contents related to personnel work, documents, propaganda, decoration, celebrations... contributing significantly to the successful organization of grassroots trade union congresses and the 1st An Giang Provincial Trade Union Congress, term 2025-2030.
