Harnessing the strength of the entire nation.
Despite being 74 years old, Ms. Dao Thi Kim Dung, residing in residential area 600, Dong Loc hamlet, actively participates in the nationwide movement to protect national security. Whenever she sees young people in the hamlet driving recklessly and revving their engines, Ms. Dung advises them and informs their parents so they can correct their behavior. Occasionally, when groups of students gather at the coffee shop in front of the school and show signs of fighting, Ms. Dung calls the commune police hotline. Ms. Dung recounts: “There are signs with the commune police hotline around the restaurants, coffee shops, and school gate. If anything happens, I call immediately, and that helps prevent negative consequences.” She also promotes and encourages her neighbors to unite and work together to build a safe and civilized residential area.

Thanks to the sense of responsibility of each citizen like Ms. Dung, the movement for all citizens to protect national security in Tan Hiep commune is spreading widely and deeply, becoming a beautiful way of life in the community. In addition, the Party Committee and People's Committee of Tan Hiep commune have issued specific plans, linking the movement with socio- economic development tasks and the construction of new rural areas. Hundreds of propaganda sessions and forums where the commune police listen to the opinions of the people have been organized, attracting thousands of participants, contributing to raising awareness and arousing vigilance and self-awareness in the fight against crime and social evils.
A highlight of the movement in Tan Hiep commune is the development and replication of many effective, community-oriented models such as people's security cameras, security gates and fences, crime reporting hotlines, crime-free and social vice-free self-governing groups, and safe parishes in terms of security and order... In particular, 70 security cameras have been installed in key areas, providing valuable information that helps the police force promptly detect and handle violations, reduce crime, and maintain security and order in the area.
Organizations, especially the Women's Union of Tan Hiep commune, actively mobilize and educate members and residents to build a safe and civilized living environment. Le Thi Xuan Loc, President of the Tan Hiep Commune Women's Union, said: “Recognizing that maintaining security and order is also about maintaining peace for the family, many women actively participate in mediation, crime detection and reporting, contributing to spreading a sense of responsibility throughout the community. We have developed and replicated models such as safe homes, the "5 no's, 3 clean" family model linked to the safety of women and children, reliable shelters, women's clubs for preventing and combating domestic violence… The movement has truly reached every family and hamlet, strongly promoting the spirit of solidarity and social responsibility.”
