Le Trung Kien and the journey to conquer English

Not only is he an excellent student, throughout his years from grade 1 to grade 8, Le Trung Kien, a 9E student at Quang Trung Secondary School, Yen Bai ward, also has an impressive record of achievements in English competitions, demonstrating his efforts and burning passion for this foreign language.

At Quang Trung Secondary School, when mentioning Le Trung Kien, a student of class 9E, everyone knows that he is not only a good student but also has a special passion for English. For Trung Kien, this is not only a subject but also an endless passion, nurtured by constant and persistent efforts. Le Trung Kien won the Silver Medal in the International Round of the FISO Online Olympic Competition 2023 - 2024 and the Silver Medal in the 8th grade of the National Competition.

Having been passionate about English since childhood, Trung Kien's journey to conquer competitions has continued over the years. Right from grade 7, Trung Kien quickly affirmed his ability with the third prize for excellent students at the city level and the third prize for grade 7 nationwide in the Internet English OLYMPIC (IOE) competition. In the same year, Kien also reached the international playground with the Silver prize in the International round of the FISO Online Olympic 2023 - 2024 competition, and the Silver medal for grade 8 in the National competition.

Entering the 2024-2025 school year, Le Trung Kien made his mark when he excellently won the second prize at the provincial level for excellent English students ( advance exam ), and the second prize at the city level for excellent students. Notably, at the IOE competition, Kien showed his superiority when he won the first prize at the school, city, provincial levels and the pinnacle was the Silver medal at the National IOE English Olympiad.

In grade 6, Trung Kien won first prize in the English debate competition; in grade 9, he won first prize in the English Challenge competition. This shows that Trung Kien is not only good at knowledge according to the program but also proficient in application skills, critical thinking and communication at a level higher than his age.

For Trung Kien, a person who is good at English must be fluent in all four skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing, because his goal is not just about scores but also the ability to use language to study, debate and integrate internationally. "I always prioritize self-study, in class I focus on listening to lectures, and at home I always proactively arrange my time reasonably to both study and have time to rest and relax. I learn more by searching for information online to supplement my knowledge and improve my skills. I really like learning to speak, communicate and am not afraid to speak in front of a crowd to improve my skills" - Kien shared.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Mai, an English teacher at Quang Trung Secondary School, shared: “Trung Kien is very diligent, self-disciplined, and creative in his studies. In addition to completing all the homework assigned by the teacher in class, he also searches for additional resources and information online to improve his knowledge.”
