Answers for Literature subject in 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City 2025

More than 76,400 candidates have just completed the Literature exam for the 2025 10th grade high school exam in 120 minutes.

Mr. Nguyen Bao Quoc, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that this year's 10th grade exam will reduce the percentage of comprehension questions to 60% instead of 70-75% as in previous years. Questions requiring application will increase to 40%, in line with the goal of evaluating students according to the 2018 generaleducation program.

The Literature test has wide coverage and is designed to assess reading comprehension and writing skills.

The Math section will cover geometry and measurement; numbers and algebra; statistics and probability. The test assesses thinking and reasoning, problem solving, and mathematical modeling.

In English, the test not only tests language based on memorized knowledge of grammar and vocabulary but also on the ability to understand and apply language in context.

This year, Ho Chi Minh City has more than 76,400 students registered for the 10th grade exam, public schools can accommodate about 70,000 places. The admission rate is more than 91%, the highest in recent years. The Department of Education and Training mobilized more than 9,500 teachers to invigilate the exam and more than 1,800 support staff.

This afternoon, candidates will take the Foreign Language exam, which will last 90 minutes. On June 7, they will take the Math exam, which will last 120 minutes. Those who wish to enter specialized classes will take an additional exam in the corresponding subject, which will last 150 minutes.

The general admission score for grade 10 is the sum of three subjects, plus priority and incentive points (if any). For specialized classes, the formula is the sum of the three subjects above with coefficient 1, plus the specialized subject score with coefficient 2.
