Urban planning management work is proactively implemented by the district, closely following the orientation of the Da Nang City Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 and adjusting the general planning of Da Nang City to 2030, with a vision to 2045.
The District People's Committee organizes to collect opinions from the community, participates in giving opinions, coordinates with departments and branches in the process of establishing zoning plans (Da Nang Bay zoning, airport zoning, Han River zoning and East bank zoning); specialized planning projects, technical infrastructure; housing and urban development programs and projects of the city... in accordance with the general development orientation of the city and the actual situation in the locality, creating a foundation and space to maximize the exploitation of resources, build and develop Thanh Khe district in a civilized and modern direction.
To develop urban space, meet the socio -economic development needs of the district according to the orientation of the 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050 of the city, the district proposed 10 urban reconstruction points in the direction of modern compact urban areas.
Including the seafood market area of Thanh Khe Dong ward; Khe Can drainage area; the area at the end of Nguyen Duc Trung street; the land recovered from Vinabag Company; Tan Chinh market area; alley 112 Tran Cao Van area; Thanh Khe District Central Square; residential area east of 29-3 park; the area east of Le Do street; the triangle area of Le Duan - Ly Thai To - Hoang Hoa Tham streets.
In addition, the policy of connecting urban traffic between small roads to main roads in the area is given attention and priority. The project to expand Nguyen Duc Trung Street to Nguyen Tat Thanh Street was included in the list of key driving force projects of the city in the period of 2021-2025; the planning of alley 112 Tran Cao Van (section from Tran Cao Van Street to Nguyen Tat Thanh Street) was agreed by the City People's Committee to assign the District People's Committee to propose an expansion plan, creating momentum for the development of trade and services in the area.
The district has completed the approval of the adjusted and supplemented planning project, determined the road boundaries of alleys and lanes, and construction regulations at 1,082 alleys and lanes, to better serve the management of general planning architecture in the area.

The infrastructure of residential areas in the area has been invested and gradually completed, contributing to improving the quality of services for people's daily life and travel. In particular, the project to renovate, upgrade and expand alleys in Thanh Khe district has been actively implemented and received the unanimous support of the people with the policy of "The State and the people work together", thanks to which 356 alleys have been renovated and upgraded; the entire infrastructure of 15 alleys has been expanded and upgraded. The work of clearance and compensation has been effectively implemented. From 2020-2024, 18 projects with 377 households were cleared, 14 projects were completed and 307 files were handed over.
In the planning and management of urban planning for the period 2025-2030, the District People's Committee actively and closely coordinated with relevant departments and branches to propose local adjustments to the general planning of Da Nang city to create a favorable basis for approving appropriate zoning plans (Da Nang airport zoning, Da Nang bay coastal zoning, Han River and East bank zoning).
Integrate the urban reconstruction planning orientation areas in Thanh Khe district into the project of reconstruction, renovation and urban development of Da Nang city center in the period of 2023-2030, to have a basis for implementation in the next stages.
The district coordinated with the city's departments, agencies and branches to propose opening Nguyen Duc Trung Street to Nguyen Tat Thanh Street; widening Alley 112 Tran Cao Van; implementing investment to upgrade 29-3 Park; urgently completing site clearance to complete the project to widen Do Ngoc Du Street from 5.5m to 10.5m; managing and exploiting tourist beaches on Nguyen Tat Thanh Street.
