The patriotic emulation movement "Exemplary war veterans" was implemented by the War Veterans Association at all levels in the province in conjunction with patriotic emulation movements and became the main movement and central task in the association's work.
The movement is concretized through practical activities in areas such as participating in building and protecting the Party, the government, and the people, maintaining political stability, order, and social security at the grassroots level; helping each other reduce poverty, do good business, improve living standards, care for and protect the legitimate and legal interests of war veterans; educating the younger generation on patriotism and revolutionary heroism; being exemplary in implementing movements, campaigns, and local socio-economic programs...
Participating in building and protecting the Party, the government, and the people, maintaining political stability, order, and social security, the Veterans Association at all levels has thoroughly grasped, organized propaganda, and mobilized cadres and members of the Veterans Association to always promote the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", mobilized people to implement the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's policies and laws; and resolutely fought against the wrong views and ideologies of hostile forces.
The Association has more than 5,000 members participating in Party committees at all levels for the 2020-2025 term, and more than 1,100 members participating in People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term. In order to contribute to maintaining political security and social order and safety in the area, the Provincial Association of War Veterans coordinates with the Provincial Police to direct the Association of War Veterans at all levels to maintain and replicate the "1+2" and "1+3" models (1 family of a War Veterans Association member coordinates with 2 or 3 adjacent households to form a cluster of crime prevention and control points); participate in the Security and Order Protection Team at the grassroots level.
Promoting the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" on the economic front, members of the Veterans Association at all levels set an example in overcoming difficulties, developing the economy, getting rich and helping each other reduce poverty.
The Association of War Veterans at all levels proactively coordinates with the Social Policy Bank to facilitate members to borrow capital to develop production and business, apply science and technology, convert livestock and crops towards commodity production, and adapt to the market. Currently, the Association of War Veterans has received more than 761 billion VND from the Provincial Social Policy Bank, lending capital to more than 6,000 war veteran households to develop the economy.
Associations at all levels have built association funds of more than 82.8 billion VND, coordinating to mobilize other sources for members to borrow at low or no interest rates for production and business.
The movement to build the "Comradely Love" fund has been responded by officials and members at all levels to support war veterans in difficult circumstances to build new and repair houses. From this fund, in the past 5 years (2019 - 2024), the War Veterans Association at all levels has supported the construction and repair of houses for 171 war veterans.
Practical support and care activities have helped many families of war veterans escape poverty sustainably, become well-off, and contribute to stabilizing social security.
Currently, the province has 7 enterprises owned by war veterans with revenue of over 50 billion VND/year, 8 enterprises with revenue of over 10 billion VND/year; there are 300 small and medium enterprises, along with thousands of cooperatives, cooperative groups, farms, family farms, service business households and creating jobs for more than 31,000 workers. By the end of 2024, the rate of poor war veterans' households will decrease to 0.19%; the rate of well-off and rich households will reach 63.61%.
The War Veterans Association at all levels coordinates with departments, branches and organizations to set an example in implementing patriotic emulation movements, campaigns and local economic and social programs such as the Campaign "Vinh Phuc War Veterans join hands to build new rural areas"; "The whole country joins hands for the poor - No one is left behind"; "The whole people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas; participate in building "Model Cultural Villages"...
Over the past 5 years, war veterans in the province have donated more than 12,100 square meters of residential land and cultivated land, more than 4 billion VND, and 46,149 working days to build roads, cultural houses, and public works.
The Veterans Association at all levels is responsible for 1,036 bright - green - clean - beautiful roads, meeting the criteria recognized by the Vietnam Fatherland Front. Participating in drowning prevention, the Veterans Association at all levels has organized 661 on-duty teams with more than 3,000 members participating; directly saving the lives of 12 drowning children.
With practical and effective activities, the "Exemplary War Veterans" movement has motivated and encouraged members to overcome difficulties, maintain and promote the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", the tradition of "Loyalty, solidarity, exemplary, innovation", actively contributing to the implementation of tasks of economic development, social culture, national defense and security of the locality, always being a reliable support of the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in the province.
