Speed up the construction progress of Rach Mieu 2 Bridge to close on the occasion of April 30th holiday
The Rach Mieu 2 Bridge construction investment project connecting Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces has been completed by more than 80.84%, 4% ahead of schedule and is being accelerated to prepare for closing.

According to the reporter, in late March 2025, at the construction site of the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge investment project, engineers and workers are working hard. The investor has launched a competition movement "45 days and nights to speed up the construction progress of the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge investment project connecting Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the complete liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025)". According to the My Thuan Project Management Board (Ministry of Construction, project investor), every day, at the construction site, units continue to maintain the implementation of 3 shifts, 4 teams; there are about 150 construction equipment; 500 workers and 83 technical staff. All are determined to complete the project according to the direction of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Construction at the project inspections and Directive No. 26/CT-TTg dated August 8, 2024 of the Prime Minister. My Thuan Project Management Board, together with all construction units and supervision consultants, strictly followed the Prime Minister's instructions, organized construction in "3 shifts and 4 teams" to achieve the plans, closely followed and exceeded the required progress to complete the entire project on September 2, 2025. The project starts at Dong Tam intersection (intersection between National Highway 1 and Provincial Road 870) in Chau Thanh district (Tien Giang province) and ends at about Km16+660 National Highway 60, about 0.71km from the northern abutment of Ham Luong bridge in Ben Tre city (Ben Tre province). Rach Mieu 2 main bridge is a cable-stayed bridge, with a length of 1,971.2m; Grade III plain road, 4 lanes. The total length of the project is about 17.6km, 9.65km on the Ben Tre side and 7.95km on the Tien Giang side. The project has a total investment of 6,810 billion VND from the State budget. To date, the overall progress of the project has been completed at more than 80.84%, exceeding the general progress by more than 4% compared to the plan. The main bridge section, Rach Mieu 2 Bridge, is exceeding the progress by more than 15%. The road section under construction on the entire route is 14/14km (100%). The bridge section on the route has completed 4/6 bridges (Xoai Hot Bridge, My Tho Bridge, Tam Son Bridge and Ba Lai Bridge), the remaining under construction are the main bridge Rach Mieu 2 and Song Ma Bridge. According to My Thuan Project Management Board, the main bridge - Rach Mieu 2 bridge has completed 100% of the tower body P19 & P20, completed 11/14 blocks of the main bridge deck and is constructing 12/14 blocks of girders. Construction units have installed 96/112 bundles of cable-stayed cables. It is expected that on April 30, 2025, Rach Mieu 2 Bridge will be closed. By June 30, 2025, all 5/5 bridges on the route will be completed and the approach roads will be basically completed. According to the plan, the entire project will be completed by September 2, 2025.
