District Vice Chairman disciplined for letting his children get into special schools

On August 23, news from Muong Lat District Party Committee, Thanh Hoa province said that the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee has just announced a disciplinary decision on the inspection when there are signs of violations against Party organizations and Party members related to the enrollment work at Muong Lat Ethnic Minority Boarding Secondary School.

Muong Lat Boarding Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, where many children of leaders "slipped" into the school against regulations, causing many to be disciplined.

Accordingly, the officials: Mai Xuan Giang, Vice Chairman of Muong Lat District People's Committee; Lo Van Tuan, former Head of Muong Lat District Department of Education and Training (currently Deputy Head of Department of Culture); Tong Minh Toi, Deputy Head of Muong Lat District Department of Education and Training; Trinh Xuan Tam, Principal of Muong Lat Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities; Vu Xuan Tung, specialist of Department of Culture and Information (former specialist of Department of Education and Training) were disciplined with a reprimand.

Previously, parents of Muong Lat district sent a petition to the authorities of Thanh Hoa province and the press agencies, reflecting that at Muong Lat Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, many students who are children and grandchildren of department-level leaders, teachers... in Muong Lat "slipped" into the school against regulations in the 6th grade exam.

The inspection and examination showed that from the 2020-2021 school year to the 2023-2024 school year, many students who are children of officials, civil servants, and teachers were admitted to Muong Lat Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities against regulations.
