The Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway, through Gia Loc district, has some degraded areas and peeling road surface.

The Hai Duong Department of Transport has proposed that the Provincial People's Committee allocate funds to renovate and upgrade km32+800-km44+400 of the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway (left side of the route) through Binh Giang district into a class III road (including Bai Say bridge).

The section from km44+400-km54+400 (the left side of the route and part of the right side) in Gia Loc district will be renovated and upgraded to a class III road and some sections according to the planning of Hai Duong City's beltway II (including O Xuyen bridge).

The remaining feeder roads through Binh Giang and Gia Loc districts and the section km54+400-72+560 (both sides of the route) in Binh Giang, Gia Loc, Tu Ky and Thanh Ha districts will be renovated and upgraded to grade III roads.
