At the meeting on the afternoon of April 4, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Duong proposed that the Provincial People's Committee report to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee for the policy of building a scientific dossier on the Great Physician - Zen Master Tue Tinh to submit to UNESCO to honor and organize a ceremony to celebrate the 700th anniversary of his birth (1330 - 2030).

The representative of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Duong also proposed to hand over the draft document of the province to report to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO on the proposal to build a dossier to honor and organize a ceremony to celebrate the 700th anniversary of the birth of the great physician Tue Tinh.

The opinions of the delegates at the meeting were unanimous about the great contributions of the great physician Tue Tinh to the country's medical and pharmaceutical industry. His life and career are closely linked to the nation's medical and pharmaceutical sciences, and he is honored as the "Holy Master of Southern Medicine".

However, some delegates suggested that the construction of the dossier and organization of the 700th anniversary of the birth of famous physician Tue Tinh should have a specific roadmap and collect documents to correctly identify his contributions to the country's medical science.

Concluding this content, Mr. Trieu The Hung - Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee agreed with the proposal to build a dossier to request UNESCO to honor the Great Physician - Zen Master Tue Tinh as a world cultural celebrity and organize a ceremony to celebrate the 700th anniversary of his birth in 2030.

Mr. Hung said that the construction of the dossier must be carried out immediately on the basis of ensuring progress and respecting accuracy and science. The province assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to preside over and complete the submission to the Provincial People's Committee to report to the Provincial People's Committee Party Committee and the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee. The People's Committee of Cam Giang district was assigned to continue exploiting documents on the famous physician Tue Tinh to supplement the dossier.

Tue Tinh's real name is Nguyen Ba Tinh, nickname is Hong Nghia, dharma name is Tue Tinh (1330-1400). He was born in Nghia Phu village (commonly called Xua village), Van Thai commune, Cam Giang district, Thuong Hong prefecture, Hai Duong province - now Nghia Phu village, Cam Vu commune, Cam Giang district, Hai Duong province.

Tue Tinh is considered the father of Vietnamese pharmacy and the founder of traditional Vietnamese medicine. His books “Nam Duoc Than Hieu” and “Hong Nghia Giac Tu Y Thu” are not only significant in the history of medicine but also in the history of Vietnamese literature.

According to legend, Tue Tinh was an outstandingly intelligent monk who passed the Second Class Doctorate exam, or Hoang Giap, and was also good at medicine, so he was forced to pay tribute to the Ming Dynasty. In China, Tue Tinh cured the Song Princess (wife of the Ming Emperor) of postpartum illness, so he was given the title "Great Medical Zen Master".

For centuries, Tue Tinh has been revered as the saint of traditional medicine. In Hai Duong, there are temples dedicated to him in Cam Van and Cam Vu communes, and in Hai Trieu pagoda in Yen Trung village, now Giam pagoda, Cam Son commune, Cam Giang district. Currently, in his temples, there are parallel sentences implying the above-mentioned stories.
