The film quickly joined the "hundred billion club" of Vietnamese cinema, becoming the sixth work to achieve this achievement in 2025, after The Four Guardians , Billionaire Kiss , Ghost Lights , Ancestral House and Ghost Invasion . Including early screenings on April 2 and 3, The Tunnel 's achievement is considered impressive with a strong growth rate in revenue, ticket sales and number of screenings.

Up to now, the film is also leading the box office chart, surpassing a series of competitors at the same time such as Marrying a Ghost to Solve Bad Luck , Construction Worker's Secret Service , My Dear Bear , A Minecraft Movie ...

Previously, on April 8, the film crew announced the achievement of nearly 1 million tickets sold - a number that shows the impressive appeal from the content to the staging.

One of the scenes that left a strong impression on the audience was the scene of "sawing the bomb" underground. Actor Quang Tuan, playing Tu Dap, and his teammates (Anh Tu Wilson, Cao Sang Le) realistically recreated the scene of sawing the bomb underground. The dramatic situation was when Tu Dap decided to switch from hand sawing to heating the bomb casing to remove the fuse - a real technique, but with high risks. The whole scene took place in a quiet space, but still made the audience "hold their breath" to follow every detail.

The character Tu Dap was inspired by the people's armed forces hero To Van Duc - who was once known as the "bomb disposal machine".

Tunnels: Sun in the Dark is still showing in theaters nationwide, continuing to be the center of the box office in April.
