During the meeting with the Nhan Dan Newspaper delegation, General Secretary of the Portuguese Communist Party Paulo Raimundo emphasized that Vietnam's historical events are significant not only for the Vietnamese people, but also for the Portuguese Communist Party and the people of the world . Vietnam is a nation that has triumphed in the struggle against colonialism and imperialism. Vietnam's victory is a great source of inspiration for nations around the world. Considering the press conference as an opportunity to strengthen solidarity between the two parties, General Secretary Paulo Raimundo and Editor-in-Chief Le Quoc Minh agreed that solidarity is the key to success, as President Ho Chi Minh once advised. General Secretary Paulo Raimundo affirmed that the Communist Party of Portugal is pleased with the opening of embassies in both countries and will strive to contribute to strengthening bilateral relations. Recalling the visit of General Secretary Paulo Raimundo to Vietnam in August 2024, Editor-in-Chief Le Quoc Minh expressed his delight at the close and solidarity between the two Parties, which share a common goal of bringing happiness to the people.
Editor-in-Chief Le Quoc Minh expressed his hope that the Communist Party of Portugal would actively contribute to promoting cooperative and friendly relations between the two countries, including local cooperation. Nhan Dan Newspaper wishes to strengthen cooperation with Portuguese media outlets to jointly promote the potential of each country. International friends at the press conference stated that the victory of the Vietnamese people is also the victory of all progressive people around the world, having immense significance and serving as a source of strength and inspiration for other nations. Vietnam is a shining example, continuing to fight for and contribute to peace, friendship, and cooperation in the world. At a symposium on Vietnam 50 years after the liberation of the South and national reunification, Editor-in-Chief Le Quoc Minh emphasized: Vietnam has gone through many periods of fierce war to gain independence in 1945 and then national reunification in 1975. From a country devastated by war, Vietnam is now very proud to be among the top 40 developed economies in the world. Despite the challenges during and after the war, Vietnam has always been aware that peace is crucial for a country and has consistently strived to contribute to strengthening national unity and common development. Many difficult challenges still lie ahead, but Vietnam is aiming for the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam in 2030 and the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in 2045 with the goal of becoming a developed nation. Editor-in-Chief Le Quoc Minh expressed his admiration for the significance of the Avante Festival, noting that it is not merely a cultural event, but also a great opportunity to bring people from many different countries together. Editor-in-Chief Le Quoc Minh emphasized that Vietnam's success is due to the support and cooperation from international friends. Therefore, Vietnam is very eager to strengthen international cooperation with countries around the world. Having learned about President Ho Chi Minh through books and newspapers, this was the first time Alexandre Barros, a Portuguese student, visited the Vietnamese exhibition space and heard the President's voice reading the Declaration of Independence, which was posted on a mobile application. Virtual reality technology allows visitors to the Vietnamese exhibition space at the Avante 2025 Press Conference to experience a "time travel" journey back to the historic Ba Dinh Square on September 2, 1945. International children were delighted by images of the parade and march commemorating the 80th anniversary of National Day at Ba Dinh Square on September 2, 2025.
The Vietnamese exhibition space, organized by the Nhan Dan Newspaper, attracted the attention of many international young people. The Avante Newspaper Festival has long been a public event, a meeting place for exchange, interaction, and mutual understanding. 2026 marks the 50th anniversary of the first Avante Newspaper Festival, a special milestone for Portuguese communists as well as international friends.
