On the evening of July 23, the University of Information Technology announced the minimum scores for admission methods.
The minimum score for the admission method based on the results of the competency assessment exam organized by Ho Chi Minh City National University in 2025 (excluding bonus points and priority points) is 720 points for all majors. For the Microchip Design major, candidates must achieve a minimum score of 195 points in Mathematics.
The minimum score for admission based on the results of the high school graduation exam (excluding bonus points and priority points) applied to all admission combinations is 22 points for all majors. For the Microchip Design major, candidates must achieve a minimum score of 6.5 in Mathematics.
Previously, speaking with VietNamNet reporter, Dr. Nguyen Tan Tran Minh Khang - Vice Principal of the University of Information Technology said that the school's admission subject combinations all include Math, while this year's Math test was assessed as relatively difficult.
The school predicts that the admission score of the University of Information Technology in 2025 will tend to decrease slightly or remain the same compared to 2024.
The first reason is that this year's high school graduation exam in Math is more difficult and has a significantly higher level of differentiation, making the average admission score for groups A00 and A01 likely to be lower.
The second reason is that in recent years, the number of students registering for the University of Information Technology has been over 30,000 while the enrollment target is 2,000, stable over the years, creating a "supporting force" that makes it difficult for the benchmark score to decrease significantly.
In 2024, the benchmark score for the Artificial Intelligence major at the University of Information Technology will be the highest at 28.3 points. Mr. Khang said that this year the group of "hottest" majors will not change. The leading position in the benchmark score is expected to still belong to majors such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Science , Computer Science , and Software Engineering. These are majors with very high demand for human resources and continue to attract the best candidates.
The Vice President of the University of Information Technology predicts that the benchmark scores will decrease differently depending on the major group. For the top majors, there may be a slight decrease of 0.25 to 0.75 points. For majors in the middle and bottom groups, the decrease is more obvious, possibly from 0.75 to 1.25 points.
"The school-wide benchmark scores have been adjusted downward, but there will not be a shock drop due to the school's reputation and position. However, it should be emphasized that these are predictions based on initial analysis. The official and most accurate benchmark scores will have to wait until the Ministry of Education and Training announces the exam score distribution and the school has final statistics on candidates' registration wishes," said Mr. Khang.
