In July 2018, Trung Hieu Organic Cooperative was established, initially with only 15 members, growing more than 150 hectares of sweet corn and vegetables. To date, the Cooperative has grown to 59 members, linked with 719 households in Mai Son, Muong La, Yen Chau districts, cultivating 400 hectares of sweet corn, 450 hectares of vegetable soybeans, yielding more than 10,000 tons/year.

Ms. Doan Thi Thuy, Director of the Cooperative, took us to visit the sweet corn growing area and introduced the farming process: Organic agricultural production must be carried out right from the stage of land preparation, to seed selection, fertilization, and installation of automatic irrigation systems, all of which must be synchronized. During the process of planting and caring for corn and vegetables, until harvesting and processing, members and workers are guided and strictly supervised by the Cooperative's technical team according to safe and standard production processes.

Mr. Leo Mai Dong, Head of the Technical Team, added: Our task is to closely monitor the process of planting sweet corn and vegetable soybeans, regularly check each plot of land, and guide households on proper care techniques. Near the harvest time, the Team continuously checks the quality of the products, ensuring the correct size and nutritional content according to new regulations for harvest.

Currently, the cooperative's products are supplied to orders for many large processing factories, such as: Doveco Son La Vegetable and Fruit Processing Center, Dong Giao Food Import-Export Joint Stock Company (Ninh Binh), Toan Cau Food Import-Export Joint Stock Company ( Bac Giang )...

Mr. Kieu Duc Tam, Buc village, Chieng Sung commune, a member of the cooperative, said: I was trained and shared new techniques in planting, caring for and post-harvesting crops such as corn, soybeans, vegetables... Thanks to that, the crops have high productivity and quality, meeting the requirements of processing enterprises. 4 hectares of sweet corn alone yielded more than 80 tons/crop, with a revenue of nearly 400 million VND.

Expanding organic production and building a consumption chain helps the cooperative effectively exploit local potential, form concentrated specialized areas, limit small-scale production, and create quality, competitive products. Since its establishment, the cooperative and its associated households have produced and consumed more than 6,000 tons of sweet corn and 4,000 tons of soybeans and vegetables for processing factories each year, with a revenue of nearly 80 billion VND/year.

With an effective organic production model, Trung Hieu Organic Cooperative has been making an important contribution to the restructuring of agriculture and promoting local socio -economic development.
