Tense developments in V.League

The championship race and the relegation battle both witnessed extremely tense developments after the end of round 22 of V.League 2024/25.

Before round 22 took place, VFF sent a document to Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF), participating clubs, VFF Referee Board and supervisors and referees, directing to strengthen the organization of the final matches of the 2024/25 national professional football season.

Grasping the developments of the Tournament in each round, VPF Company and the Tournament Organizing Committee have actually proactively tightened the organization of matches in the 2024/25 national professional football season from many recent rounds, when the championship race and the relegation race showed clear signs of grouping.

Therefore, even though this season the VAR system has covered almost 100% of the matches in the V.League, VPF still invites foreign referees to officiate in important matches in the championship race or relegation race.

From the beginning, VPF had a policy of inviting foreign referees (to act as main referees and/or VAR referees) for each important match at the end of the season. In addition, the assignment of Vietnamese referees to coordinate was focused on, and with the effective support of VAR technology, so even though the matches were tense and fierce, the organization and professionalism were still ensured, and basically no incidents occurred.

The match between Nam Dinh Blue Steel and Dong A Thanh Hoa in round 22 is a typical example, when two Malaysian FIFA referees, Mr. Tuan Mohd Yaasin and Mr. Muhamad Izzul, along with their Vietnamese colleagues, brought the match to a safe finish, to the satisfaction of the players of both teams and 20,000 spectators packed into Thien Truong Stadium.

The fact that Nam Dinh Steel Blue and Hanoi FC both won in round 22 has made the championship race continue to be a duet between the two teams that ranked first and second in last year's season, while The Cong Viettel and Hanoi Police are temporarily in the back because neither team has got all 3 points in this round (Hanoi Police currently plays 1 less match).

At the bottom of the table, SHB Da Nang's victory over Quy Nhon Binh Dinh in the match considered the "reverse final" of the relegation race deserves to be considered one of the most notable highlights of this year's season with a beautiful goal by goalkeeper Bui Tien Dung.

Thanks to this victory, SHB Da Nang has narrowed the point gap with Quy Nhon Binh Dinh and Song Lam Nghe An right above, lighting up hope for themselves in the relegation race in V.League 2024/25.

There are still 4 more rounds until the end of V.League 2024/25 and at this time both the championship race and the relegation battle are open, when any result can happen in the remaining stages of the season, and V.League really needs a professional and serious spirit like VPF from all participants in the tournament so that the national professional championship can finish as desired.
