National Farmers' Forum - 'Listening to what farmers say'

(PLVN) - On the morning of October 14, in Hanoi, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) jointly organized the 9th National Farmers' Forum in 2024 with the theme: Chairman of the Vietnam Farmers' Union - Minister of MARD "Listening to farmers speak".

The 9th National Farmers' Forum - "Listening to farmers speak" was chaired by Mr. Luong Quoc Doan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union; Mr. Le Minh Hoan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development .

Representatives of central ministries, branches, localities, experts, scientists , businesses; and 126 outstanding farmers and typical cooperatives attended the Forum.

The 9th National Farmers' Forum is one of the main events of the 2024 Vietnamese Farmers' Pride Program chaired by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union and assigned to the Today's Rural Newspaper to organize and implement.

At this Forum, for the first time, the President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers’ Union - the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development co-chaired and listened to the thoughts, aspirations and recommendations of farmers. The message of the Forum is “Sharing together, listening together”.

Mr. Luong Quoc Doan - Member of the Party Central Committee, President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union emphasized: "The forum is an opportunity for us to listen to outstanding farmers and typical cooperatives share difficulties and obstacles in the fields of agriculture, farmers and rural areas; at the same time, propose, reflect, express aspirations and recommendations to the Vietnam Farmers' Union and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. On that basis, the two units will have reports, summaries and proposals to the Party and the State on specific policies to support farmers to enthusiastically participate in production and socio-economic development."
