Parade to celebrate 80th anniversary of Army's founding shows cultural identity and aspiration for peace of the nation

On July 1, in Hanoi , Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nghia, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, chaired a working conference with agencies and units on implementing the task of organizing a parade in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024), and the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024).

According to the Project on organizing activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day, the parade and marching program will be organized solemnly, dignifiedly, regularly, safely and economically; the participating forces will be streamlined and modern, demonstrating the unity and regularity of the people's armed forces; demonstrating the cultural identity and aspiration for peace of the nation. To develop and implement the Project, the Military Training Department has coordinated with agencies inside and outside the army to conduct a field survey at the Minh Dinh National Stadium and agreed to propose a number of additional contents and adjustments to the content of the Project; accordingly, reducing some groups of the parade and marching forces; adjusting the equipment of the infantry groups; the group of soldiers of the Tank - Armored, Engineer, Artillery, Chemical branches; the group of Special Forces soldiers; the militia and self-defense force and adding a group of military vehicles and artillery.

Speaking at the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nghia acknowledged and commended the agencies and units for proactively advising, proposing, and doing a good job of preparing for the parade and march to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day; directed relevant agencies and units to continue to urgently deploy all aspects of preparation work; especially, mobilizing human resources, weapons and equipment, proactively establishing assigned parade and marching groups to practice soon. In particular, units with military artillery forces proactively prepare training plans, survey maneuver routes, assembly locations, ensure safety, on time, and in accordance with the actual situation.
