Dieu Khanh - Thanh Thu surpassed their veteran seniors to win the women's doubles table tennis championship.

Nguyen Khoa Dieu Khanh and Nguyen Bach Thanh Thu are the number 1 female table tennis pair in Vietnam at the moment, having won the national championship for many years. However, they did not have an easy final match on the evening of May 23, when they had to meet veteran Mai Hoang My Trang (HCMC) and her teammate Nguyen Thi Nga ( Hanoi ).

Right from the first game, both sides created a thrilling chase. Dieu Khanh and Thanh Thu, despite being placed in a chasing position, still came back to win 12-10.

But the experienced My Trang - Nguyen Thi Nga pair created many storms in the next two games. The good coordination of the two seniors helped them win two consecutive victories 11-6, 11-3 to lead with a score of 2-1, standing before the opportunity to overthrow the juniors.

But at this point, the physical problem began to become apparent. With their youthful energy, Dieu Khanh and Thanh Thu boldly played offensively, winning an important 11-6 victory in game 4 to tie the score at 2-2.

This result forced the two teams to enter game 5 to determine the champion. Neither team would give in as they took turns leading the score. In the end, their tenacity and youthful energy helped Dieu Khanh - Thanh Thu win a thrilling 12-10 to win the women's doubles championship of the 2025 National Table Tennis Championship.

The day before, this duo, along with Mai Hoang My Trang, won the women's team event.

In the men's doubles event, the T&T Police duo Dinh Anh Hoang and Le Dinh Duc defeated Bui The Nghia - Nguyen Dang Hiep (Army) with a score of 3-1 to win the championship for the 6th consecutive time.

On May 24 and 25, the 2025 National Table Tennis Championship will be suspended during the national mourning period for formerPresident Tran Duc Luong. The tournament will resume and conclude on May 26.
