Dinh Bac: U22 Vietnam determined to get 3 points against U22 Laos

Speaking before the match, striker Nguyen Dinh Bac expressed that he and the U22 Vietnam team will play with the highest determination to win against U22 Laos.

On the afternoon of December 2, the U22 Vietnam team had their final tactical training session to prepare for the opening match against U22 Laos at the 33rd SEA Games taking place tomorrow (December 3).

In an interview before the training session, striker Nguyen Dinh Bac shared: "In my opinion, the whole team is very happy and determined in this tournament."

U23 Vietnam once beat U23 Laos 3-0 at the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship. However, Dinh Bac is not complacent. "Football is hard to predict. The whole team will enter the field with the highest spirit and determination to get 3 points tomorrow," he said.

"Youth football in the region is now very developed, it is not easy for the Vietnam U22 team. We have to focus right now, prepare well for tomorrow's match," he added.

After many matches without scoring for Hanoi Police Club in the 2025 - 2026 season, Dinh Bac scored the winning goal in a 2-1 victory over Beijing Guoan in the 2025 - 2026 AFC Champions League Two.

Dinh Bac admitted: "This goal gives me more motivation to play well at the SEA Games."

Dinh Bac also shared that coach Alexandre Polking encouraged him a lot during the long time he did not score a goal, so that he could finally score. "Your goal is almost here. Trust me. He always pushes me to improve every day," he said.

Dinh Bac was only supposed to be able to join the Vietnam U22 team on December 3 after completing his time playing for the Hanoi Police Club.

However, he proactively asked coach Polking to join the Vietnam U22 team early.

He said: "I talked to coach Polking, told him that I have never participated in the SEA Games and understand all the fans' expectations for U22 Vietnam this time.

I hope the teacher understands and creates conditions for me to come to practice right from the first days to prepare, integrate and play in the first minute of this tournament."

Sharing about his role as vice-captain, Dinh Bac said: "Being vice-captain for the first time is both a joy and a responsibility for me. I will try my best on the field to contribute to the team's overall achievements."

Dinh Bac said that not only coach Kim Sang Sik but also the coaching staff of the U22 Vietnam team cares a lot about the players. "The coaching staff always jokes and is close, creating excitement for the players before the tournament."
