United Nations Development Program delegation working at Bich Dam Residential Group

On the morning of April 25, a working delegation of the United Nations Development Program led by Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Chu Hoi - Head of the National Steering Committee for Small Project Funding Program, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Fisheries Association worked at Bich Dam Residential Group (Vinh Nguyen Ward, Nha Trang City). Joining the delegation were representatives of the Vietnam Women's Union, the Provincial Women's Union, the Department of Culture, Science and Information of Nha Trang City, and Vinh Nguyen Ward.

The delegation listened to an introduction to local historical and cultural relics.

The delegation visited and learned about some places in Bich Dam such as: Bich Dam communal house historical relic, heritage banyan tree, Bich Son pagoda, An Thanh temple, Hon Lon lighthouse, coastal road; met and exchanged with people in Bich Dam. At the meeting, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Chu Hoi informed about some results of the implementation of the Project "Promoting dialogue and cooperation between the community and the private sector with state agencies in coral reef conservation and sustainable development of Hon Mun sea area, Nha Trang bay" sponsored by the Global Environment Facility - Small Project Funding Program in Vietnam; the choice of people's livelihoods associated with sustainable fisheries development.

The delegation met and talked with Bich Dam people.

The households also discussed, proposed and recommended a number of contents related to support for Bich Dam to develop community tourism such as: Support electricity, clean water for daily life; improve infrastructure for tourism; organize professional classes on tourism, tour guides; means of transportation from the mainland to Bich Dam; organize cultural events; build a website to introduce Bich Dam, promote community tourism... The delegation recorded the opinions of the people for consideration and support in the coming time.
