Hanoi City delegation completes visit to Truong Sa military and people and DK1 platform

From May 7 to 14, the Hanoi City delegation led by Standing Committee Member of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City Party Committee's Inspection Commission Hoang Trong Quyet visited and encouraged soldiers and people of Truong Sa archipelago and DK1 Platform in 2025.

Specifically, from May 7 to 14, ship KN 491 (Fisheries Control Squadron No. 4) took 120 delegates of the Hanoi City Working Group to visit and work at the islands: Song Tu Tay, Da Thi, Sinh Ton, Len Dao, Co Lin, Da Dong C, Truong Sa and DK1/16 (Phuc Tan) rig.

In addition, the delegation also visited and worked with units: Brigade 146, Brigade 162 (Naval Region 4), visited Submarine 182 Hanoi of Submarine Brigade 189 (Navy).

During the trip, the delegation held incense offering ceremonies at the Gac Ma Soldiers Memorial, the Cam Ranh Political Prisoners Memorial; held a memorial ceremony for officers and soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands in the Co Lin, Len Dao, and Gac Ma islands; and attended the flag-raising ceremony on Truong Sa island...

One of the key activities that the working group carefully prepared was to organize gift giving to the military, people and forces on the island and DK1/16 Platform. Thereby, encouraging the military, people and forces on Truong Sa island district and DK1/16 Platform to overcome difficulties, stand firm at the forefront, and successfully complete the task of firmly protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

During the voyage on ship KN491, the delegation organized many exciting and meaningful activities such as: Contest to learn about the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Navy; Literature and art composition contest to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Navy, 50 years of the Liberation of Truong Sa archipelago.

In particular, the auction of paintings on ship KN491 raised more than 500 million VND to create a fund to support the activities of officers and soldiers on Truong Sa island district, DK1 platform and some units...

Evaluating the trip, Chairman of the Hanoi Party Committee's Inspection Commission Hoang Trong Quyet affirmed that the trip achieved very good results thanks to the careful preparation of the working delegation, whose standing agency was the Hanoi Capital Command, and the active support and contributions of the capital's cadres and people to beloved Truong Sa.

In particular, the delegation's trip was also filled with great joy when they were able to inaugurate the Multi-purpose Cultural House on Da Dong C Island, donated by the Party Committee, government, armed forces and people of Hanoi city.

This meaningful gift helps officers, soldiers and forces of Truong Sa island district in general and Da Dong C island in particular to steadfastly protect the sacred sea and islands of the Fatherland.

Continuing on this trip, the delegation, on behalf of the Party Committee, government, armed forces and people of the Capital, contributed to Truong Sa a new project, the Cultural House on Da Lat Island, worth 50 billion VND.

“The Party, government, armed forces and people of the capital always have Truong Sa in the heart of Hanoi. Over the past years, Hanoi has organized many practical activities, contributed and invested in many projects and equipment for Truong Sa. I believe that in the coming years, Hanoi will contribute more, helping Truong Sa and our islands to be stable, contributing to building Vietnam to become more and more developed, rich, beautiful, civilized and modern” - Comrade Hoang Trong Quyet emphasized.

The working trip to Truong Sa archipelago and DK1 platform in 2025 of the Hanoi City delegation was carried out as planned, achieving the set goals and requirements. The trip was a valuable practical lesson, leaving deep feelings in each member when saying goodbye to Truong Sa: "Bringing out feelings, bringing back faith; sacred sovereignty, faith and responsibility".
