Delegation of the Department of Industry and Trade of Tuyen Quang province held talks with delegation of the Trade Department of Van Son district, Yunnan province

On November 8, in Van Son district, Yunnan province, China, the delegation of the Department of Industry and Trade of Tuyen Quang province (Vietnam) led by Mr. Hoang Anh Cuong, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, held talks with the delegation of the Trade Department of Van Son district, Yunnan province (China). Also attending were leaders of the Department of Construction, the Provincial Border Guard Command, the Provincial Customs, and the Tuyen Quang Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion.

Attending the meeting on behalf of the delegation of the Department of Trade of Van Son district were comrade Trinh Diem Bang, Director of the Department of Trade of Van Son district and members of the delegation.

Overview of the meeting.

In a friendly and open atmosphere, at the talks, the two sides informed each other of the results of cooperation and economic and trade exchanges since the end of the talks in late 2024 and exchanged opinions on exchanges and cooperation in the coming time. Thereby, they reached common understandings.

The two sides agreed to continue to maintain, exchange information, inherit and develop the results of friendly cooperation in the field of border trade and import and export goods between the Department of Industry and Trade of Tuyen Quang province, Vietnam and the Trade Office of Van Son Chau, China; coordinate to promote the facilitation of customs clearance of goods at the border gates of both sides; based on the cooperation mechanism between the two sides, periodically organize talks, conferences, border trade economic exhibitions and other activities.

Head of the delegation of the Department of Industry and Trade of Tuyen Quang province and Head of the delegation of the Trade Department of Van Son district signed the minutes of the meeting.

According to the rotation mechanism, in 2026, Tuyen Quang province will take on the responsibility of organizing the Vietnam - China Border Economic Trade and Tourism Fair (Van Son). From the following years, odd years will be organized by China and even years will be organized by Vietnam.

The two sides agreed to continue improving the capacity for convenient customs clearance at the two sides' border gates. Continue to optimize Thanh Thuy - Thien Bao border gate, Xin Man - Do Long border gate, Sam Pun - Dien Bong border gate, gradually reduce customs clearance time, support businesses to reduce customs clearance costs, and standardize border gate fee collection.

Head of the delegation of the Department of Industry and Trade of Tuyen Quang province, Hoang Anh Cuong, presented a gift to comrade Trinh Diem Bang, Director of the Trade Department of Van Son district.

Along with that, the two sides agreed to jointly promote the import and export of medicinal herbs, coordinate in providing information on medicinal herbs enterprises and the needs of enterprises of both sides. The two sides agreed to coordinate with relevant agencies of both sides to prepare necessary conditions, promote the commencement of the project to build traffic works across the border at the Thanh Thuy - Thien Bao international border gate area as soon as possible.

At the talks, the two sides also agreed to strengthen reporting, seek opinions from competent authorities of both sides, and soon sign additional dossiers on border gate pairs for international road transport between Vietnam and China and international road passenger and cargo routes agreed by the transport sectors of both sides at the 13th Vietnam-China road transport expert conference in Hanoi on January 17, 2025. The two sides agreed to report to the transport sector to propose arranging international road transport management agencies at the border gates immediately after the Sam Pun - Dien Bong border gate pair and the international road passenger and cargo routes are added to the Protocol implementing the Vietnam-China Road Transport Agreement.

Another important content is that the two sides agreed to accelerate investment in construction and upgrading of traffic infrastructure connecting the border gates, ensuring smooth circulation of passenger and cargo transport, reducing logistics costs, and increasing the output of imported goods. The Chinese side will accelerate the construction of the expressway from Thien Bao border gate to the center of Malipo district as well as the level II road from Dien Bong to Moc Uong town, Phu Ninh district. The Vietnamese side will accelerate investment in construction and upgrading of the road from the border gate to the center of Tuyen Quang province.

The talks were successful. According to the agreement between the two sides, the next talks are expected to be held in the first 6 months of 2026, chaired by the Department of Industry and Trade of Tuyen Quang province.
