The program is a meaningful political and cultural activity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2025), and at the same time, towards the key creative period of the literary and artistic community of Ho Chi Minh City.
Immediately after the incense offering ceremony and the visit to the thematic program "The South forever remembers His gratitude" , on the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025), the 114th anniversary of Uncle Ho's departure to find a way to save the country (June 5, 1911 - June 5, 2025), the group of artists visited the Reunification Hall - the place that marked the historic moment of April 30, 1975 when the Liberation Army tank crashed through the gate of the Independence Palace, ending the victory of the resistance war against the US and unifying the country.

The journey to the source, organized by the Propaganda Department and the Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, took place from May 27 to 30, passing through historical sites in Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, and Binh Phuoc . Through the trip, artists will collect real materials, adding inspiration to their artistic creations to serve the propaganda of history, revolutionary traditions, and the cause of national construction.
The trip was attended by 108 delegates including veteran artists who participated in the 1975 Spring General Offensive and Uprising; outstanding artists of the city's Literature and Arts Associations, art units under the Department of Culture and Information of Ho Chi Minh City; artists who have made many contributions to promoting and preserving national art and traditional culture, actively participating in the city's political and social programs...

At the age of 86, his health did not allow him to travel far, but Meritorious Artist Manh Dung still attended the program before departure, bringing some wartime memorabilia that he still kept and sharing many things with the young artists in the delegation.
Meritorious Artist Manh Dung emotionally said: “We artists at that time witnessed special moments of the country. We were able to bring our songs to farms, resistance bases... And, we witnessed the moment of welcoming our soldiers from enemy prisons. Everyone who returned carried countless wounds on their bodies. Their images remind us never to forget those years, those sacrifices so that over the past 50 years we could still perform, sing, create, and live in peace. Young artists today are lucky not to have to go through the difficult years of war, enduring the sound of bombs and bullets between the two fronts, so cherish peace. Let's promote the spirit of soldiers on the ideological and cultural fronts.”

Due to old age and poor health, Meritorious Artists Le Thien and Thanh Dau could not participate but still sent their feelings and encouragement to the young artists. Meritorious Artist Le Thien shared: "This is not the first trip back to the roots of the city's artists. We have been to Truong Son, to the Northwest... And this trip is extremely meaningful. I hope that the artists will fully promote their love for the lands of the Fatherland, each trip will bring more creative materials in their fields."
