Increase inner strength

Since the beginning of the year, Binh Duong's industrial production has continued to maintain a stable growth momentum. Enterprises have proactively adapted and maintained production pace in the context of many difficulties due to the impact of unusual developments in the world situation. Maintaining growth momentum, flexibly adapting to the market and promptly seizing new investment opportunities are key factors helping the province's industrial sector in the first 6 months of 2025 to achieve an estimated growth rate of 10.19% over the same period in 2024.

According to the assessment of the Provincial People's Committee, in the context of the world economy continuing to have many potential instabilities, especially the impact of the US tariff policy, along with the high prices of raw materials and fuels and the unstable consumer market, the industry still maintains a positive growth momentum, which is a good sign. This shows the dynamism and flexibility in economic management of the authorities at all levels in the context of many fluctuations, clearly demonstrating the intrinsic strength of the business community in the province.

Kim Chung Mechanical Production, Service and Trading Company Limited (Tan Uyen City) operates in the field of processing details and auxiliary equipment for the industry. Previously, the company used old, outdated machinery, which had to go through many stages to complete the product. When supported by the technology innovation program of the industry and trade sector, the company invested in modern machinery, automated production lines and production methods. Thanks to that, the company has shortened product production time by 1/3, reduced operating labor by 50%, reduced labor costs by 5 times for each product and increased labor productivity by nearly 5 times compared to old technology.

Mr. Luu Tri, Vice President of Binh Duong Electromechanical Association, said that the characteristic of the supporting industry is to produce in large quantities, so cost, quality and delivery time are always strict requirements of large corporations, especially when Vietnam participates in the global supply chain. Therefore, member enterprises of the association determined that technological innovation is extremely important and urgent for enterprises. Enterprises prioritize automation, because only automation can solve 3 problems: Reducing costs, stabilizing quality and meeting delivery time.

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam, Director of Lam Viet Joint Stock Company (Tan Uyen City), the world is entering a new stage of development, competition between major countries along with the strong impact of the 4.0 industrial revolution, the impact of trade wars have made the issue of autonomy in development more urgent than ever. Innovation and digital transformation will help promote the construction and development of a creative economy, growth based on science and technology, diversifying the supply chain is the key to building a sustainable supply chain, highly adaptable to major fluctuations of the world economy, ensuring stable production activities, and effectively participating in the global value chain.

“With an increasingly open economy, Vietnam cannot avoid the impact of the 4.0 industrial revolution on key sectors of the economy, including investment, business and industrial production activities. This forces businesses to reorganize their supply chains and innovate their production and business methods to suit the new situation through the application of outstanding achievements in digital technology. Businesses also promote the diversification of supply chains, reduce dependence on foreign supplies and accelerate the process of innovation, application of high technology and digital transformation in production and business activities,” Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam shared.

Connected throughout

To achieve the industrial growth target by 2025, enterprises wish to continue to strongly improve the investment environment, and related sectors will closely coordinate to promptly remove difficulties and obstacles for enterprises, especially in administrative procedures, production premises and access to capital. Along with that, related sectors will step up support for enterprises in digital transformation, applying new technologies in production to increase productivity and competitiveness of industrial products in the market.

According to Mr. Phan Thanh Duc, Director of Binh Duong Garment Joint Stock Company (Thuan An City), simply applying digital technology in the factory does not mean that a digital and self-operating supply chain will be formed, but requires a connection throughout all activities taking place inside and outside the enterprise, from planning to purchasing plans, production activities and logistics. Therefore, changing the awareness of the leader is very important for the enterprise to be able to accept new trends, understand correctly, do correctly and make good use of opportunities from new trends.

“Technological innovation is a vital factor for enterprises. However, many enterprises are currently facing difficulties due to lack of information about technology, financial support policies for enterprises to carry out technological innovation, and incentives for products created from technology transfer and innovation. Technological innovation is the foundation for enterprises to improve quality, diversify products, and proactively adapt to market demand. Currently, there is still much room and opportunity for domestic enterprises to innovate technology, improve the value chain and compete with imported products. However, some enterprises are not fully aware of the important role of technological innovation. Moreover, there are enterprises that are still facing many difficulties in technological innovation, such as lack of information about technology, support programs from the State; and not many incentives for products created from technology transfer and innovation,” Ms. Phan Le Diem Trang, Vice President of Binh Duong Textile and Apparel Association, shared about the reality of the domestic garment industry.

The business community is expecting the Government to step up the implementation of the strategy for developing science, technology and innovation, while promoting digital transformation activities and diversifying supply chains; focusing on developing foundational and supporting industries to enhance the internal strength of the economy, improve competitiveness and efficiency of domestic production; strengthen guidance and create favorable conditions for enterprises to effectively use the Science and Technology Development Fund...
