Enterprises explore investment in waste treatment plant project in Vinh Long

(VLO) On September 6, Mr. Nguyen Khac Nhu - Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Investment of the province, had a working session with investors from Ho Chi Minh City to learn about investing in the project of building a domestic waste treatment plant in Vinh Long province (photo).

The Department of Planning and Investment has informed about the relevant contents of the Hoa Phu Solid Waste Treatment Complex (Hoa Phu Commune, Long Ho District), the current status of the domestic waste treatment plant, the province's investment policy, and answered and clarified issues of concern to investors.

According to Decision No. 1673 of the Provincial People's Committee on approving the investment policy for the project to build a domestic waste treatment plant, on an area of ​​7.63 hectares; in the form of bidding to select investors, at the Hoa Phu Solid Waste Treatment Complex.

Design capacity 500 tons of garbage/day. Treating domestic solid waste by incineration technology, ensuring the landfill rate after treatment is no more than 20%.

Construction is expected to start in the third quarter of 2024 and be operational in the first quarter of 2026. The project's operating period is 50 years.

The project aims to treat the existing waste at Hoa Phu landfill; solve the problem of daily household waste treatment in the province, replace the current solid waste landfill with modern, environmentally friendly technology. Thereby, improving environmental quality, ensuring public health and sustainable urban development.
