On November 7, in An Giang province, the Enterprise Development Institute - Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) coordinated with the Representative Office of the National Office of Intellectual Property in Ho Chi Minh City; the Department of Science and Technology of An Giang province and Vietnam Anti-Counterfeiting Technology Joint Stock Company (ACTIV) to organize a training conference on "Improving the competitiveness of enterprises through intellectual property and anti-counterfeiting technology solutions".

Speaking at the event, Ms. Le Thi Thu Thuy, Deputy Director of the Institute for Enterprise Development, said that intellectual property (including trademarks, patents, industrial designs, etc.) plays an important role as intangible assets and is an effective tool for businesses to create distinct advantages.

Accordingly, the intellectual property of trademarks and industrial designs is protected, helping businesses' products stand out and be easily recognized by consumers among countless other products, thereby building customer trust and loyalty.

This is a solution to prevent competitors from copying and illegally exploiting the enterprise's proprietary technologies and production processes, protecting technological competitive advantages, and at the same time creating legal barriers for competitors. The close combination of intellectual property registration and protection with the application of anti-counterfeiting technology solutions is a key strategy to help Vietnamese enterprises build a solid position and enhance their competitive advantage in both domestic and international markets.

Sharing the same view, Mr. Tran Giang Khue, Head of the Intellectual Property Office in Ho Chi Minh City, said that in the context of increasingly sophisticated counterfeit goods, the application of technology is the "shield" to protect businesses and consumers.

According to him, preventing counterfeit goods not only helps businesses maintain sales, protect market share and avoid loss of profits, but also maintains reputation and customer trust. Anti-counterfeiting technology helps consumers easily verify the origin of products, creating a sense of security when shopping, thereby strengthening trust in the brand.

In addition, the application of technology in production and traceability also allows businesses to track the entire product journey, control quality and detect early loopholes in the distribution stage - points that can be exploited for counterfeiting, thereby affirming the image of a modern, transparent and responsible business.

Sharing about the competitiveness of enterprises in An Giang province, Mr. Le Quoc Cuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, said that recently, enterprises in the province have been focusing on strongly applying science, technology, innovation and digital transformation. This is identified as a strategic breakthrough for local economic development.

The application of anti-counterfeiting technology in production by enterprises in the province in recent times has shown initial positive changes, but there are still many challenges. However, An Giang province's enterprises are on the right track when applying anti-counterfeiting technology to improve competitiveness. However, to create a breakthrough, there needs to be closer coordination between enterprises, consumers and the government in overcoming barriers in cost, skills and synchronization in implementation.

As a province with strengths in agriculture, An Giang province is promoting the application of high technology in the production, processing and preservation of key products such as rice, tra fish, and vegetables, in order to increase the added value and competitiveness of agricultural products. The deployment of anti-counterfeiting technology in the production activities of enterprises in recent times has brought initial positive signals, but still faces many challenges.

In order to support and accompany businesses in An Giang province in improving their competitiveness, through this training conference, Vietnam Anti-Counterfeiting Technology Joint Stock Company introduces the traceability solution using TrueData electronic chip stamps - simultaneously applying three core technologies: RFID, AI and Blockchain.

Mr. Pham Van Tho, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Anti-Counterfeiting Technology Joint Stock Company, shared: True Data traceability technology solution helps businesses build trust and protect their brands. When applying this solution, all information about products from production, processing, packaging, and transportation are recorded and transparently disclosed. This helps consumers easily verify the origin and source, creating strong trust. True Data technology provides a tool to authenticate genuine products. When consumers are assured of the quality and origin, they will be more loyal to the brand, directly enhancing the competitive advantage of businesses, and is a tool for management agencies to check and control against counterfeit goods and goods of unknown origin.

Within the framework of the training session, Vietnam Anti-Counterfeiting Technology Joint Stock Company (ACTIV) officially launched its Representative Office in An Giang province. This event marks a new development step in ACTIV's journey to protect the legitimate rights of businesses, strengthen consumer confidence, thereby contributing to promoting sustainable development and enhancing the competitiveness of the local business community.
