A smartphone project with a quirky design, a unique flip camera and the promise of a free AI experience is causing a stir in the tech community. The iKKO Mind One, although coming from a little-known brand, is showing an effort to refresh an already saturated smartphone market.

The phone named iKKO Mind One, a product of a small audio brand, is becoming the center of attention before the fundraising campaign on the Kickstarter platform. With a unique square design, the size of the device is only equivalent to an ATM card (86 x 72 mm), 8.9 mm thin and 120g light, aimed at users who love compactness.

The most notable hardware highlight is the flip camera system using a 50MP Sony sensor. This camera cluster is designed as a module that can be rotated, allowing users to use the same high-quality sensor for both selfie and main photography.

The design is reminiscent of some of the innovative flagships of the past, such as the Oppo N1, but is now rare in the market. The device also features a 4-inch AMOLED display with a nearly square 1:1 ratio.

The uniqueness of Mind One is not only in the hardware. This device integrates two operating systems in parallel. On one side is Android 15, allowing users to install and use common applications like any other Android phone.

On the other side is iKKO AI OS , a separate platform optimized for AI tools such as translation, editing, information lookup or planning. The company claims that this operating system operates independently and does not contain ads.

In particular, the Pro version of Mind One comes with an almost unprecedented promise: providing free global internet in more than 60 countries. However, this connection will only be for using the built-in AI features, users do not need to install a SIM or register for any additional packages.

Although the Kickstarter campaign has not yet officially launched, iKKO Mind One has created a wave of heated discussions on international technology forums. Many users have expressed their praise for its bold idea and compact design.

The company even developed a Qwerty keyboard accessory that makes it look like a Blackberry. However, there are also many skeptical opinions about the actual experience, from the build quality, battery life to the actual effectiveness of the free AI internet package. "If it weren't for the camera cluster being so clunky, I probably would have ordered it. But the overall idea is really commendable," commented one Reddit user.

According to initial information, the standard version of Mind One will have a starting price of about 299 USD (nearly 8 million VND) in the fundraising round, with delivery time expected to start from October this year.

While the project's success remains a question mark, the iKKO Mind One is certainly an interesting case, showing that there are still efforts to find differentiation in a competitive smartphone market.
