New Zealand team wins 2025 Asian Women's Beach Volleyball Championship

On the afternoon of April 28, the Organizing Committee of the 2025 Cloud Gate Cup Asian Women's Beach Volleyball Tournament held an award ceremony for athletes who achieved achievements at Tuy Hoa beach. Attending the event were Comrade Dao My, Vice Chairman of Phu Yen Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation and representatives of departments, branches and localities.

In the final match, the New Zealand pair Polley - MacDonald showed their strength against the Thai pair Naraphornrapat - Worapeerachayakorn and won convincingly with a score of 2-0, thereby winning the championship of the tournament in Phu Yen . The third prize went to the pair Alchin - Johnson (Australia 2), the fourth prize went to the pair Fleming - Fejes (Australia 1). The teams of Vietnam, Japan and China tried their best to win 5th place in this tournament.

In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded the excellent athlete award to Polley (New Zealand) and the beauty queen title to athlete Alchin (Australia 2).

2025 Cloud Gate Cup Asian Women's Beach Volleyball Championship attracted 22 teams from 10 countries and territories, divided into 8 groups to compete to select excellent representatives to enter the next round. The athletes showed their talents in a total of 40 matches at the tournament.

Despite not having much experience in international competitions, the Vietnamese girls still won an encouraging 5th place. This success could not have been achieved without the enthusiastic support and encouragement of many volleyball fans in Tuy Hoa City.

Mr. Le Hoang Son, Technical Supervisor of the Asian Volleyball Federation, commented that the tournament in Phu Yen was very successful in terms of expertise and organization. “The athletes came to Phu Yen and were very impressed with everything here. They hope to have the opportunity to return to this land. It was wonderful!”, Mr. Son said.
