Secretary of the Hoa Binh Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Phi Long and the provincial working delegation have just arrived at the scene to inspect the landslide area in Rai hamlet, Tuan Dao commune, Lac Son district.
The Secretary of the Hoa Binh Provincial Party Committee requested Lac Son district to pay attention to supporting people's lives and absolutely not let people return to their old residences when safety is not guaranteed.
For the 7 households (out of 50 households in Rai hamlet that must be relocated) who are currently living in the kindergarten, the district needs to move them to another place to return the school to the children. In addition, all levels, sectors, and localities must not be negligent, subjective, or lose vigilance, and must ensure absolute safety for the people.
According to the report of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Tuan Dao commune, the impact of storm No. 3 and prolonged heavy rains have caused many houses of Rai hamlet residents living in the Cay Da Bai Rai hill area to be at high risk of landslides.
During an inspection at the Cay Da Bai Rai hill area, local authorities noted many large cracks, 1-3m deep, more than 1m wide in some places, and 200-300m long. A house at the foot of the hill had its entire foundation cracked.
After assessing the situation and the level of danger, the local government immediately implemented urgent solutions, evacuating 50 households with 228 people in Rai hamlet, along with their assets, out of the high-risk area directly threatened by landslides.
Of these, 20 households were evacuated to the cultural house of Rai hamlet, Chao Nac hamlet and Tuan Dao commune kindergarten. 30 households with 132 people were taken to other safe shelters in the area.
Tuan Dao commune leaders said that in order to ensure the safety of people's lives and stabilize their lives in the long term, in addition to supporting necessary necessities, the authorities also propagated and mobilized 50 households in the high-risk landslide area not to return to their old residence.
On the other hand, the locality has also calculated a plan to allocate 5% of the commune's land fund to support resettled households. The Secretary of the Hoa Binh Provincial Party Committee requested Lac Son district to soon have a comprehensive planning solution, fundamentally solve the problem, and ensure the safety of people's lives.
