Opponents praise U.23 Vietnam
U.23 Vietnam will face U.23 Bangladesh at 7:00 p.m. tomorrow (September 3) in Group C of the U.23 Asian qualifiers.
At the pre-match press conference, coach Saiful Bari Titu of Bangladesh U.23 team could not attend due to high fever and had to be hospitalized for examination and treatment. Attending instead of Mr. Titi was assistant Hassan Al Mamun, who is considered the "right-hand man" of the head coach of Bangladesh U.23 team.
"The 2026 AFC U23 Championship qualifiers are a great opportunity for us to select quality players to add to the Bangladesh team. We had a month of training in Dhaka, followed by two weeks of training in Bahrain to prepare for this tournament. These are valuable experiences for the players. The Bangladesh U23 team currently has many potential players who can contribute to the national team in the future," said assistant Hassan Al Mamun.

Although in the fourth seed group and not highly rated compared to host U.23 Vietnam, or U.23 Yemen, U.23 Singapore in group C, assistant Hassan Al Mamun still believes U.23 Bangladesh will play with 100% effort.
"We played two friendly matches before going to Vietnam to participate in the 2026 AFC U23 Championship qualifiers. Vietnam U23 is too strong. They are a very high-quality team. I know that Vietnam U23 has just won the Southeast Asian U23 Championship, the players have very good technical and tactical skills as well as physical strength.
Overseas Vietnamese midfielder is not physically fit, what other 'cards' does U.23 Vietnam have left?
We don't have much information about U.23 Yemen and U.23 Singapore yet, but I think both have the ability to compete for high rankings in the group," assistant Hassan Al Mamun added.
Answering the press's question about the most impressive player on the U.23 Vietnam side, the assistant coach of the U.23 Bangladesh team listed 3 names.
"I know that the captain of U.23 Vietnam (Khuat Van Khang) used to play for the national team. I am also impressed with player number 7 (Dinh Bac) and number 9 (Quoc Viet). The midfielders and defenders of U.23 Vietnam also played very steadily," said Mr. Hassan Al Mamun.
