The Vietnamese U.23 attack has improved noticeably.
At the U.23 Southeast Asia tournament in July, scoring was one of the most talked about aspects of U.23 Vietnam. At that time, Bui Vi Hao had just suffered a serious injury, and Dinh Bac had just returned to the team after a period of absence. That was the reason why in the regional tournament about 3 months ago, U.23 Vietnam's strikers played inconsistently.

Things improved slightly during the U.23 Asian Championship qualifiers in early September. Vietnam's U.23 team saw the return of striker Nguyen Thanh Nhan, and Nguyen Ngoc My played better than in the previous Southeast Asian tournament.
Currently, the front line of the U.23 Vietnam team is better and more comprehensive than in the 2026 U.23 Asian Cup qualifiers. After the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers a few days ago, coach Kim Sang-sik was confident in the abilities of Thanh Nhan and Dinh Bac, when he used them in the national team and they played confidently. In addition, in recent rounds of the V-League, striker Dinh Xuan Tien unexpectedly shone in the shirt of The Cong Viettel Club. He scored in the last 2 rounds, helping The Cong Viettel rise to 2nd place in the rankings.
Diversity of personnel
Also in the V-League, striker Bui Van Binh of Ho Chi Minh City Police FC scored a goal. He is a promising striker, considered by coach Le Huynh Duc as a backup option for the main striker Nguyen Tien Linh at Ho Chi Minh City Police FC.

Nguyen Quoc Viet also made a comeback in the Ninh Binh Club jersey.

Thanks to the rise of the above-mentioned strikers, at this time, under the guidance of coach Kim Sang-sik, he has enough material to create a forward line with diverse styles. If he needs fast and skillful wingers, Mr. Kim has Nguyen Ngoc My and Nguyen Thanh Nhan, if he needs technical strikers, Mr. Kim has Dinh Xuan Tien and Nguyen Quoc Viet. And if he is looking for strong strikers, the Korean coach can give a chance to Nguyen Dang Duong (1.84 m tall, currently playing for The Cong Viettel Club) or Bui Van Binh (1.78 m). Particularly, the bright star in the forward line at the age of 23 is Nguyen Dinh Bac, who is capable of playing in any position on the front line, from winger, second striker to center forward.
The diversity of personnel will help coach Kim Sang-sik aim for a diversity of playing styles for U.23 Vietnam, at the 33rd SEA Games, taking place in December this year in Thailand. The young players of U.23 Vietnam will have a few more matches in the V-League 2025-2026, to accumulate more experience and courage, before attending the Southeast Asian Games in 2025, in even better condition.
