The two Vietnamese rowers overtook all their rivals to cross the finish line first, bringing home a valuable gold medal for the Vietnamese sports delegation at the 33rd SEA Games. The performance of the Vietnamese pair was highly impressive due to their strength, rhythm, and excellent coordination, creating a clear lead over their competitors.
Nguyen Thi Huong and Diep Thi Huong finished first with a time of 2 minutes 06 seconds 486, far ahead of the Thai pair (2 minutes 09 seconds 783) and the Indonesian pair (2 minutes 16 seconds 417).
Earlier, Canoeing also brought good news when the pair Vo Duy Thanh and Do Thi Thanh Thao won the silver medal in the 500m mixed double kayak event, finishing only behind Singapore. This valuable silver medal provided a morale boost, paving the way for Nguyen Thi Huong and Diep Thi Huong to complete a spectacular breakthrough, bringing home the opening gold medal for the Vietnamese delegation.
