Vietnam women's team will play a friendly match with Werder Bremen women's club

(PLVN) - The Vietnamese women's team will play a friendly match with Werder Bremen women's club in Hanoi.

The international friendly football match between the Vietnam Women's Team and Werder Bremen Women's Club (Sportverein Werder Bremen) will take place at 7:00 p.m. on May 16 in Hanoi .

This is an activity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Federal Republic of Germany. At the same time, the match also demonstrates the active preparation of Vietnamese women's football before the qualifying round of the 2026 Asian Women's Championship. Competing with a team with a rich tradition from the Federal Republic of Germany like Werder Bremen will bring valuable experiences to the whole team.

Werder Bremen Women's Club is a representative from the German Women's National Championship - Frauen-Bundesliga, one of the top women's football leagues in Europe and the world . The team is based in the city of Bremen and is known for its modern and technical style of play. With a squad that includes many talented young players with international experience, Werder Bremen will be a quality opponent for the Vietnamese women's team.

The Vietnam women's team is expected to gather on May 6 at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center (Hanoi) with about 30 players. Under the guidance of head coach Mai Duc Chung, the Vietnamese women's players will have 10 days to prepare for the friendly match with Werder Bremen women's club.
