Vietnam team won Gold Medal at International Team Olympiad in Informatics - IIOT 2025

Surpassing many teams around the world, the Vietnamese team won the Gold Medal at IIOT 2025 - an important milestone, demonstrating the intelligence, courage and aspiration of the young generation of Vietnam in the digital age.

IIOT (International Informatics Olympiad in Teams) - International Informatics Olympiad in Teams - is a world-class intellectual playground, held annually since 2017, to inspire passion for programming, promote algorithmic thinking, promote teamwork spirit, creativity and problem-solving ability in a modern technological environment for high school students around the world .

The Vietnamese team won the Gold Medal at the International Olympiad in Informatics.

With a team competition model similar to the prestigious ICPC competition for university students, IIOT has quickly become an attractive technology arena, gathering many outstanding young talents in the field of Computer Science .

This year, IIOT 2025 is held from May 30 to June 3 in Budapest, Hungary, with the participation of 23 teams from many countries.

Participating for the first time in this playground, the Vietnamese team (organized, selected and trained by the Research Institute for Innovation and Quality Assessment (RIVA)) includes four students from the High School for Gifted Students in Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi : Hoang Xuan Bach, Nguyen Bui Duc Dung, Nguyen Xuan Chi Thanh and Dao Quang Linh participating in the competition online.

Despite being “newbies” at IIOT, the students demonstrated maturity, steadfastness, and outstanding programming and algorithmic thinking skills. Good coordination, high team spirit, and reasonable competition strategies helped the Vietnamese team overcome many opponents, excellently winning the Gold Medal and ranking first with the Bulgarian team with a total score of 771/800.

The Vietnamese team consists of four students from the High School for Gifted Students in Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

The outstanding achievements at IIOT 2025 are not only the result of a serious learning and training process, but also a vivid demonstration of the intelligence, will and aspiration to conquer technology of the young generation of Vietnam in the digital age. The Gold Medal at IIOT 2025 will add confidence, arouse aspirations and strongly inspire students who love Information Technology across the country, contributing to spreading the image of an innovative, creative and strongly integrated Vietnam on the global technology map.
