However, at times, the Vietnamese team's coordination was poor and their defense ineffective, allowing their opponents to score points quite easily.

Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet decided to rest all the key players such as Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen, and Nguyen Thi Trinh, giving opportunities to Pham Thi Hien, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh, and Nguyen Thi Phuong. Despite playing with a second-string lineup, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team still dominated the Australian team and won 25/17. This was a set where Nhu Quynh and Kieu Trinh showcased impressive attacking abilities.
The Australian team put up a valiant fight in the third set, creating a fierce back-and-forth battle, but the Vietnamese women's volleyball team surged ahead to win 25/14, securing a 3-0 overall victory.

The Vietnam U.21 team suffered a 0-3 defeat against Taiwan in their opening match at the 2025 International Women's Volleyball Tournament.

Also today, two opening matches of Group B took place, with the Vietnam U21 team losing 0-3 to Taiwan and the Thailand U21 team losing 2-3 to Korabelka Club (Russia). Tomorrow (June 29), the Vietnam U21 team will face the Thailand U21 team at 2 PM, while the Vietnam women's volleyball team will play against the Philippines at 7 PM.
