Dong Da organizes Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day and Reading Culture Ambassador Contest 2025

Implementing the Plan of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports , on April 16, 2025, the People's Committee of Dong Da district issued Plan No. 183/KH-UBND on Organizing the 4th Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day - 2025 and the Hanoi City Reading Culture Competition in 2025.

According to the Plan, activities in response to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2025 and Hanoi City Reading Culture Contest 2025 will be deployed by Dong Da district to 100% of primary and secondary schools in the district.

With the messages of "Reading Culture - Connecting the community", "Entering the era of national growth with books", "Reading - enriching knowledge, nurturing aspirations, promoting innovation and creativity", many activities in response to the 4th Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day are focused on organizing by Dong Da district from April 15 to May 1, 2025. On this occasion, many schools in the district will organize events, Book and Reading Culture Festivals with activities to promote books, tell stories and follow books, draw pictures according to books, arrange books artistically. At the same time, organize spaces to introduce books of publishers, distributors, sign books, donate, support and give books, exchange old books for new books, organize reading promotion activities, guide reading methods and skills, develop skills in searching, exploiting and using information.

The district will also strengthen communication and book promotion, honor typical collectives and individuals in publishing activities, develop reading culture on media, newspapers, technology platforms, and social networks to widely spread the value of books and reading culture in the community; contribute to building a spiritual and cultural life, promote ethical values, and the tradition of studiousness of the capital and the nation.

The Dong Da District Reading Culture Ambassador Contest 2025 is a contest for students from grades 1 to 9 studying at primary schools, secondary schools, international schools and other typesof education in the district.

For the school-level competition, 100% of primary and secondary schools in Dong Da district will implement the Competition for students. Each contestant will submit an independent entry (not a group entry), the language of presentation will be in Vietnamese and can use one of two formats: Written (typed, handwritten), the length of the written entry must not exceed 5,000 words (15 typed pages). Video Editing: Minimum duration is 5 minutes, maximum is 10 minutes; effects, techniques can be used and image and sound quality is guaranteed; maximum capacity is 2GB, minimum resolution is 480px, minimum frame size is 854 x480 or higher; saved in popular formats .mp4, .avi, .mpeg, .mkv, .klv... and suitable for posting on YouTube.

Each school will select 10 articles and video clips that won school-level prizes and send them to Dong Da Culture - Information and Sports Center for selection to participate in the City-level Competition.

The school-level Cultural Ambassador Contest will be completed by Dong Da district before May 12, 2025.

For the district level, the Organizing Committee of the Reading Culture Ambassador Contest will receive entries from May 12 to May 15, 2025 at the address: Dong Da Culture - Information and Sports Center, No. 22 Dang Tien Dong. For entries in the form of images and clips, please print them on a CD-ROM. Recipient: Ms. Lai Thi Thu Huyen, Tel: 0947878889. Email: [email protected]. The Organizing Committee will mark entries from May 19 to 23, 2025. In this round, the Organizing Committee will select 50 high-quality entries to participate in the Final Round of the City-level Contest.
