Thai Nguyen aims to have 700 enterprises digitally transformed by 2025. With the support and companionship of the Department of Industry and Trade, many enterprises and cooperatives have boldly put the province's strong agricultural products for sale on e-commerce platforms. Thai Nguyen Newspaper reporter had an interview with Mr. Nguyen Ba Chinh, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, about this content.

Reporter: Can you inform us about the results that the Department of Industry and Trade has supported enterprises and cooperatives in developing brands and doing business on digital platforms in recent times?
Mr. Nguyen Ba Chinh: In recent years, the Department of Industry and Trade has closely coordinated with the Department of Trade Promotion; Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ) to organize many specialized training programs for enterprises, cooperatives, and production and business establishments. The training programs are in the direction of hand-holding, practical training in livestream skills, thereby helping enterprises, cooperatives, and production and business establishments master how to participate in the e-commerce market, effectively promote product images through social networking platforms. Creating many opportunities for brand development, improving competitiveness, contributing to promoting the digital transformation process, and developing the local socio-economy.
PV: The biggest success in 2024 is that the Department of Industry and Trade advised the Provincial People's Committee to sign cooperation agreements with Tiktok Vietnam and Shopee Vietnam Company Limited. How does that open up opportunities for the province's strong agricultural products, sir?
Mr. Nguyen Ba Chinh: The Department of Industry and Trade has proactively connected, negotiated and agreed on strategic cooperation in supporting and promoting the widespread application of e-commerce in enterprises, cooperatives and communities in the province. The Department of Industry and Trade has been assigned by the Provincial People's Committee to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the province and TikTok Vietnam. TikTok Vietnam launched a promotional campaign on "Thai Nguyen - Four Great Teas", marking an important milestone in promoting the place, identity, culture and people of Thai Nguyen, especially tea culture and typical products of the province to domestic and international friends.
TikTok Vietnam has committed to implementing trade promotion activities, organizing training, and providing a comprehensive TikTok Shop e-commerce solution. TikTok Vietnam will support the province in building communication programs to promote the "Thai Nguyen Product Store".

The province has launched the “Thai Nguyen Product Store” on Shopee E-commerce Platform and signed a Memorandum of Understanding between Thai Nguyen province and Shopee Vietnam Company Limited. Thai Nguyen is the first locality to build a provincial Product Store model on the e-commerce platform. This cooperation marks an important step in the strategy of developing a strong e-commerce ecosystem, connecting Thai Nguyen with potential markets at home and abroad.
PV: In 2025, what plans does the Department of Industry and Trade have to support businesses and cooperatives to participate in domestic and foreign fairs, exhibitions and e-commerce trading floors, sir?
Mr. Nguyen Ba Chinh: The Department of Industry and Trade continues to accompany and support the connection of the business community, cooperatives, and production and business establishments of the province through many important trade promotion activities with outstanding events organized such as: Industry and Trade Fair - OCOP Thai Nguyen 2025; Agricultural Festival, OCOP, craft villages connecting tourism - Thai Nguyen 2025; Program "Promoting colors of agricultural products in the 4.0 period - Thai Nguyen 2025" and programs to promote and connect the consumption of specialty products such as: Vo Nhai Na, Phu Binh Hill Chicken, as well as domestic and foreign trade promotion programs.
The Department will also closely coordinate with TikTok Vietnam and Shopee Vietnam, departments, branches, and localities; effectively implement the Provincial People's Committee's Plan on the Trade Promotion Program, connecting the consumption of Thai Nguyen products on the e-commerce platform in 2025. Continue to flexibly and creatively implement trade promotion activities, connect supply and demand for product consumption, promote digital transformation, develop e-commerce, and actively contribute to the development of trade and services in the province.
