Dong Nai has 5 key national energy projects under construction.

Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son said that according to reports from units and localities, the progress of implementing important national and key projects in the energy sector has been slow in recent times. This could potentially affect the supply of electricity for socio -economic development and national energy security.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Minh Dung said that the province has 5 important national projects and works, key to the energy sector. In recent times, the province has worked many times with investors and related units to speed up the progress of completing legal procedures, site clearance, and implementing construction to soon put the project into operation.

For the Nhon Trach 3 and Nhon Trach 4 Thermal Power Plant Projects, the province has directed the settlement of site preparation, land lease, issuance of land use right certificates and infrastructure use and infrastructure services at Ong Keo Industrial Park. Currently, 99.8% of construction has been completed, and Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant is expected to be commercially operational in August 2025, and Nhon Trach 4 Power Plant in November 2025.

The Tri An Hydropower Plant Expansion Project has reclaimed more than 66/92 hectares of land, reaching 72% of the area. The province strives to complete the handover of the remaining area before June 15, 2025.

The remaining 3 projects are to relieve capacity for Nhon Trach 3 and Nhon Trach 4 Power Plant Projects including: 220kV Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant Line - My Xuan - Cat Lai branch, 220kV Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant Line - Long Thanh 500kV Transformer Station, 500kV Nhon Trach 4 Power Plant Line - Phu My - Nha Be branch. The province has directed Long Thanh district and Nhon Trach district to strive to complete the mobilization of site handover in June 2025.

The Provincial People's Committee requested the Southern Power Project Management Board and the Power Transmission Project Management Board to continue to coordinate with localities to announce compensation prices to continue mobilizing people to hand over the remaining foundation sites; direct the construction unit to erect pillars and pull wires immediately at the foundation sites where the land has been mobilized to be handed over.

Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son welcomed the determination of Dong Nai province and requested the province to speed up the progress of site clearance for power projects to hand over to investors for construction. In particular, special attention should be paid to the progress of Nhon Trach 3 and Nhon Trach 4 Power Plant Projects and projects to release capacity for these two power plant projects.
