The reason for the rapid increase in banana output in Dong Nai is that from 2024 to now, the price of bananas sold by farmers has always been high, helping to earn a profit of 300-400 million VND/hectare/year. Therefore, many farmers have switched from ineffective annual crops to growing tissue culture bananas.
Currently, Dong Nai’s tissue-cultured bananas are mostly exported to China; in addition, they are also exported to the Korean and Japanese markets, but in small quantities. Of all the fruit trees grown in Dong Nai, bananas are the crop with the largest yield, followed by rambutan, mango, and grapefruit. It is expected that if banana prices continue to remain high, this year Dong Nai farmers will be able to supply over 400,000 tons to the domestic and foreign markets.
