Dong Nai: FDI enterprises raise many difficulties and obstacles

According to the People's Committee of Dong Nai province, up to now, the locality has attracted investment from 46 countries and territories with 1,704 FDI projects, total investment capital of 35.9 billion USD. On average, Dong Nai province attracts an additional 1.5 billion USD each year.

According to the Provincial Planning by 2030, Dong Nai will have 48 industrial parks with an area of ​​about 18,443 hectares. The land fund for industry in the coming time will be abundant, with modern industrial parks, serving investors well. Currently, Dong Nai is calling for investment in the service and infrastructure sectors, prioritizing projects on bridges, roads, ports, education, complexes, exhibitions, hotels in Long Thanh airport urban area; attracting investment in urban - service - tourism chain projects along Dong Nai river...

At the dialogue, opinions of FDI enterprises focused on recommendations to resolve some problems regarding VAT refunds, procedures for changing land lease in industrial parks from annual to one-time payment; completing infrastructure of some roads in and out of industrial parks to ensure traffic safety and facilitate goods transportation; supporting enterprises to be able to build dormitories for workers...

A representative of the Korean Business Association in Dong Nai informed that many Korean businesses have reported that gas suppliers in industrial zones have reduced the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG, down 60% compared to the average monthly usage). This has caused many difficulties in the production and business activities of businesses. The Association recommends that the Department of Industry and Trade of Dong Nai province consider and ensure the supply of LNG.

Similarly, a representative of Segis Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Segis Vietnam Company, Tam Phuoc Industrial Park, Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province) said that Segis Vietnam Company completed the construction of the factory and started operating in 2006. Although the registration tax has been fully paid, the company has not yet been granted a certificate of ownership of the project. Recently, the company has contacted Dong Nai authorities to complete legal procedures but has not yet received specific instructions.

Meanwhile, a representative of Hung Nghiep Formosa Company Limited (Nhon Trach III Industrial Park, Dong Nai Province) said that for over a year, the company has had difficulty recruiting workers. Due to a lack of workers, most of the company's factories have had to operate at a low level. The company hopes that the Dong Nai government will support and connect labor supply and demand.

A representative of the Dong Nai Industrial Park Management Board informed that there is currently a labor shortage in Dong Nai. The reason is that many workers are returning to the Northern and Central provinces to work... Dong Nai authorities will organize specialized job fairs in industrial parks to create a direct bridge between businesses and workers; connect job placement centers with vocational schools; strengthen cooperation, help businesses recruit workers from neighboring localities such as Binh Thuan, Lam Dong, Binh Phuoc....

In his concluding remarks, Mr. Vo Tan Duc, Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, said that in the coming time, Dong Nai will continue to promote administrative procedure reform, further improve the quality of human resources, develop infrastructure, and create a favorable investment environment. Dong Nai's strategy is to prioritize enterprises investing in fields with modern technology, supporting industries, semiconductor industries, green technology, and environmental friendliness.

On this occasion, Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 5 FDI ​​enterprises with many contributions to the locality in the period of 2023-2024.
