Dong Thap proposes solution to deal with stagnant water near Rach Mieu 2 bridge

On August 4, the Department of Construction of Dong Thap province said that it had coordinated with the My Thuan Project Management Board (Ministry of Construction), the supervising consultant unit and contractors to conduct a survey of the situation of stagnant water after rain at the intersection of Provincial Road 870, District Road 34 and the route leading to Rach Mieu 2 Bridge.

The survey results showed that the most serious water stagnation point was at the intersection of the road leading to Rach Mieu 2 bridge, provincial road 870 and district road 34, due to the lack of a complete drainage system. Rainwater stagnated and overflowed into residential areas. The parties agreed to propose an early addition of a synchronous drainage system, including a new drainage ditch connected to the existing network and additional ditches along the road leading to Xoai Hot bridge.

Previously, people reported that after the rain, flooding had been prolonged in Kim Son commune and Trung An ward since the construction of the road leading to Rach Mieu 2 bridge (this project crosses Tien river, is more than 17km long and is expected to be put into operation on the occasion of National Day September 2 this year).
