Dong Thap: Creating the most favorable conditions for people to access technology

NDO - On the morning of May 31, at Van Mieu Park, Cao Lanh city, the Steering Committee for Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation Development of Dong Thap province held a launching ceremony for the "Digital Literacy for All" movement in the province.

At the launching ceremony, comrade Le Quoc Phong, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Dong Thap province, called on everyone to start "popularizing digital literacy" with simple things such as: Each citizen should proactively learn and practice digital skills, even if it is just simple things like turning on/off Wi-Fi, sending a message, scanning a QR code, or making electronic payments...

“Each family should be a “technology group”, helping each other learn “digital”, parents should learn with their children, grandparents should learn with their grandchildren. Each residential group and hamlet should be a bright spot for learning digital transformation, organizing training classes and sharing practical experiences; each association should be a place to apply digital transformation in production, cultivation, and agricultural trading”, Comrade Le Quoc Phong wished.

Dong Thap Provincial Party Secretary Le Quoc Phong also requested that authorities at all levels, unions and social organizations accompany, support and create the most favorable conditions for people to access and learn technology.

Party committees and authorities at all levels need to identify this as an important and top political task. Departments and branches, especially education and science and technology, need to coordinate closely to organize effective implementation. The Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations are the core, with each union member and member being a nucleus to spread digital knowledge...

With the spirit of "Digital literacy for all people - Digital literacy for all people", the "Digital literacy for all people" movement in Dong Thap will focus on the following contents: Raising awareness of digital transformation for all classes of people, helping people understand the benefits and role of technology in life, economy and administrative management.

Basic instructions on how to use digital devices, such as smartphones, tablets, and personal computers. Popularizing basic digital skills such as accessing the internet, looking up information, using public service applications, making cashless payments, and securing personal information...

Solutions to implement the movement will also be diverse, rich, flexible, and suitable to the specific conditions of the people.

The province will also organize short-term classes, free mobile classes, and community guidance points, suitable for each target group.

Those who are proficient in technology, such as cadres, teachers, union members, youth, students, etc., will be the "nucleus", the "digital warriors", helping and guiding the people around them.

According to Dong Thap Provincial Youth Union, after the launching ceremony, 141 commune-level teams and 14 district-level teams will simultaneously launch digital transformation activities locally with the desire to spread digital knowledge widely.

On this occasion, Dong Thap Provincial Party Secretary Le Quoc Phong presented 10 Arduino programming learning kits each to representatives of high schools in 12 districts and cities in Dong Thap province.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, many activities in response to the "Digital Literacy" movement took place such as: Workshop on "Developing digital economy, innovation and promoting science and technology development"; training on AI skills; implementing the 4.0 market model in some markets; giving QR codes for cashless payments...
