Cash flow, stocks flourish

At the close of the stock trading session on May 8, the VN-Index increased positively by nearly 20 points, closing at 1,269.8 points, up 19.43 points. The HNX-Index increased by 1.8 points, to 215.21 points.

On the HoSE floor, there were 230 stocks increasing in price, of which 11 stocks increased to the ceiling. Notably, and also the motivation for investors to focus on the market, the cash flow this session is very positive with liquidity on the 3 floors reaching more than 20,230 VND, up nearly 20% compared to the previous session.

The Director of the Analysis and Investment Department of a securities company said that this was a very positive session, because the cash flow returned well, stocks received positive information in real estate, public investment, oil and gas... Importantly, foreign investors returned to buy stocks that they had previously sold. Notably, this was the fourth consecutive net buying session by foreign investors since the new KRX system was applied.

Mr. Huynh Anh Tuan, General Director and Member of the Board of Directors of Vikki Digital Banking Securities Company (VikkiBankS) said that the stock market traded with caution this session, because there was no official information from the negotiations between Vietnam and the US early this morning.

Mr. Trump posted on his social media that tonight he would announce an important agreement with a country and many parties expect it to be Vietnam. However, the information is still just an expectation. But one thing is clearer, as mentioned before, the 90-day tax postponement helps the VN-Index create a bottom and also cannot avoid large-range fluctuations, following the news.

However, the market is still in a recovery trend based on the expectations of negotiations. A formal agreement may not be available, but the "openness" in Mr. Trump's approach, such as the recent reduction of tax exemptions for some goods, shows that Mr. Trump is gradually removing and softening the previous large tariffs in early April. Thanks to that, the market trend is also gradually becoming more positive with each session.
