On May 8th, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade officially launched its AI chatbot – a virtual admissions assistant (HUIT chatbot AI).
According to Mr. Pham Thai Son, Director of the Admissions and Communications Center at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (HUIT), the HUIT AI chatbot was developed by the university's Institute for Digital Transformation. The system combines large language models (LLMs) with modern information retrieval technology (RAG) to provide an advanced AI solution.
The chatbot is capable of providing advice, responses, and automated answers to questions related to admissions information, tuition fees, application methods, training programs, scholarship policies, and student life. This tool operates continuously 24/7 across multiple platforms - including websites and social networks such as Zalo, Facebook, and Messenger.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hoan, Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, provided information on the university's digital transformation.
After more than 6 months of pilot testing, the HUIT AI chatbot system has increased the accuracy of answering questions in the initial identification class to over 95%. In addition, this "virtual" assistant has been supplemented with data from the admissions handbook, student handbooks for the years 2020-2025, a Q&A system with over 10,000 real-life questions from candidates, and tools to retrieve information from the school's admissions documents and the internet...
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hoan, Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (HUIT), said that HUIT's AI chatbot version 2 is expected to be deployed in the third and fourth quarters of 2025. This will promote digital transformation and the application of AI throughout the university; striving to make HUIT a digital university and a startup university by 2030.
