The Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA) said that in the context of pepper prices remaining high, farmers are being encouraged to invest in crop care to improve productivity and product quality. However, new planting areas need time to supply the market, making it impossible for the Vietnamese pepper industry to fully recover in the short term.

Domestic pepper prices continue to be stable, with a sideways trend after many previous sessions of ups and downs. According to experts, the amount of pepper in stock among the people is currently very low, mainly concentrated in business warehouses. This makes it difficult for pepper prices to have a major breakthrough before Tet.

According to VPSA, the impact of climate change in 2024 will partly affect pepper production of farmers in key pepper growing areas. However, some areas of the provinces recorded favorable weather conditions.

Compared to the beginning of the year, domestic prices of black pepper increased by 75.6% and white pepper increased by 68.8%, similarly, export prices also increased by 30.7% for black pepper and 28.6% for white pepper. This is a positive signal, contributing to increasing farmers' income and encouraging sustainable production.

The International Pepper Community commented that the pepper market in the third week of 2025 showed mixed reactions. Both domestic and international prices of Indian pepper were stable. Despite the weakening of the Indonesian Rupiah against the US dollar (IDR 16,322 to USD 1), both domestic and international pepper prices recorded positive results.
