Japan is identified as a key market for Da Nang tourism with stable growth. In 2019, the total number of visitors from this country to the coastal city reached more than 183,000, an increase of nearly 200% compared to 2015 (92,000). Since Vietnam opened its doors to international tourism in March 2022, Da Nang City has welcomed about 27,000 Japanese visitors.

The resumption of the first regular flight from Narita, the first locality in Japan to Da Nang City, is expected to contribute positively to attracting Japanese tourists back to Da Nang City and vice versa in the coming time.
According to information from Vietnam Airlines , in the first phase, from March 26 to June 30, the Narita - Da Nang route will operate with a frequency of 4 flights/week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays; in the next phase, from July 1, Vietnam Airlines plans to operate daily flights with a frequency of 7 flights/week to encourage tourism and trade exchanges between Japan and Central Vietnam.

In addition, Mr. Yoshinori Yakabe, Consulate General of Japan in Da Nang City, said that Da Nang City has beautiful beaches, mountains and is the gateway to 4 world cultural heritages... these are favorable conditions to attract international visitors.
Compared to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang City has a better environment, however the city needs to improve its infrastructure so that tourists can have better experiences.
Japanese tourists love to experience eco-tourism, visiting places such as My Son Sanctuary, Hoi An City, Hue Monuments... when coming to Vietnam.
The resumption of flights from Japan to Da Nang City creates opportunities for tourism development.
