Binh Thuan tourism has a large growth in the number of visitors.

BTO- Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh has just chaired a meeting of the Binh Thuan Tourism Development Steering Committee to listen to a report on tourism development in the first half of 2023 and tasks and solutions in the coming time. Also attending the meeting were members of the Steering Committee who are leaders of many departments, localities and relevant agencies.

The meeting heard representatives of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism - the Standing Office of the Steering Committee, report on tourism activities in Binh Thuan in the first half of 2023 and directions and tasks for the last 6 months of the year.

Accordingly, tourism is assessed to have a very large growth in the number of visitors, especially after hosting the National Tourism Year 2023 - Binh Thuan - Green Convergence and the Dau Giay - Phan Thiet expressway opening to traffic, helping to shorten the travel time of tourists to the locality. It is estimated that in the first half of 2023, the whole province will welcome more than 4.46 million visitors, an increase of 86.36% over the same period last year and reaching 66.4% of the yearly plan (of which international visitors are about 133,900, an increase of 5.42 times over the same period). Revenue from tourism activities is estimated at VND 11,348 billion, an increase of 2.52 times over the same period last year and reaching 71.4% of this year's plan.

In addition to promoting advertising associated with the deployment of digital technology, the work of ensuring security and order, environmental sanitation, food safety, rescue at beaches, tourist areas... in the province has also been given increased attention. In particular, the locality has successfully organized the Opening Ceremony and activities of the National Tourism Year 2023 with the theme "Binh Thuan - Green Convergence". This is considered a great opportunity for Binh Thuan tourism to become a bright spot in the development of tourism in the Central region as well as the whole country in the coming time... Along with that, the Steering Committee for Tourism Development of Binh Thuan also proposed a number of key tasks and solutions in the next 6 months to strive to achieve and exceed the two basic targets of the industry set in 2023. Specifically: Welcoming 6.72 million visitors (international visitors are 220,000) and achieving total revenue of 15,900 billion VND.

At the meeting, representatives of departments, localities and Binh Thuan Tourism Association gave their opinions and proposed solutions to overcome shortcomings and limitations as well as continue to promote the potential and advantages of tourism in the province. Through the situation report and opinions of the members of the Steering Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh requested departments, localities and relevant agencies to focus on implementing a number of key tasks in the second half of 2023.
